Turn on at least 2 fucking braincells and think about econ 101 for a second, what happens if all the deviantartlets and NGMI's set their prices at atleast $9/hr? That's right, they are increasing their price WITHOUT a change in supply (since they don't offer less) and WITHOUT a change in demand (because they aren't requested more) in other words they are artificially influencing the price, supply doesn't change since it's on the artist side, then what changes? Oh, that's fucking right, demand, if you charge $9/hr for a piece of shit then nobody will pay for that, demand plummets, resulting in unemployment, noob artist gets no money at all instead of a fair price relative to their demand that might have been below the moronic minimum wage but dramatically over 0 fucking burger tickets.

Skill has no intrinsic connection to price, it CAN be a modifier of demand (if your work is good, chances are more people will want it, but not necessarily).
