It can be sad. I just posted something and got several insults. The trick is learning to ignore those and focus on anything that seems good advice. Growing a thick skin and learning to filter shitposts, insults and plain bullshit is something you pick naturally when browsing most boards and mandatory for a healthy imageboard experience. I would consider it a necessary evil that I would take anyday instead of the alternative, being stuck in a dishonest oversensitive hugbox like every other place on the internet

The secret of making it is not being paralyzed by self consciousness and just keep going forward like a retarded autist even if everyone else and yourself is shitting on you and your work quality all while keeping an improvement mindset privately and making a conscious effort on improving your weak areas. Literally get into the namefag mindset and avoid the MUH STYLE trap internally.

There are a myriad of examples even on /ic/ about /beg/ shitters who made it just by being both constant, reckless and a pain in everyone's ass by their constant sheer faggotry.

My insecurity and need for validation manages to ruin even art for me, which is the thing I probably love the most.
Every time I post a drawing somewhere I can't help but tie it to my personal value, how many likes, how many discord reactions, who reacted and who didn't
