Same anon here but I figured out what exactly was bothering me in the original and it was that she didn’t feel grounded in addition to the weak gesture. I tried to follow the pose I imagine you were going for. Understandably I imagine op was put off by my scratchy sketches in the last pic so I cleaned up this one, (also put up her hair), so you can hopefully see what I mean better.
