Thanks for the observations! I definitely got caught up with the details and made everything too messy and unfocused. Today I curved some shapes to point to the head/backpack of the character and also emphasized it with the line weights. Gonna further focus the attention on it with values and colors (bottom will be dark and unsaturated). This way it should look cool both on illustrations and ingame (2d topdown).
