That's because you're approaching it wrong, you're just blotting in color where you think it belongs, without trying to make an artistic statement about it, or use foundational technique to define and refine the form. You're doing a clumsy version of "Paint by numbers", without understanding how to draw the forms where the colors go.

Go back to the drawing. DEFINE THE FORM. Then color it. You're trying to build on mistakes, compounding more mistakes, you have no idea WHY colors are where they are.
