Is he actually that good for people starting out, or is it a noob trap?

I'm a huge beginner at art, and I am trying to go through the motions of going through what the sticky tells me to do. Yet I have talked to some other artists they are telling me Fun With a Pencil is not worth it/outdated advice? Or that Fun With a Pencil isn't helpful unless you know perspective?

I personally feel confused and overwhelmed by all the resources given to me. I tried looking up Draw a Box but now I have had a few people say that it also sucks.

This is probably me also bitching for sec, but I am just starting to get annoyed by so much conflicting advice for pure beginners. I have the feeling a lot of regulars on here who are already good at art kind of forgot what it's like to be totally lost and confused on what to try to do next. It's hard to find anybody on here as bad at art as me to relate to.

What would his reaction be to learning that millions of coomers use his teachings to draw degenerate porn today?

Are there any video courses that cover Loomis' material or similar, especially heads?

I've been going through his and Vilppu's books, but after picking up Vilppu's video course after finishing his manual and seeing improvement at 10x the pace, I realized video is far superior at conveying the material.

I saw Andrew Loomis at an art supplies store in Los Angeles back in 1953. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen pencils in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the pencils and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

How come he generates so much heated discussion and division on this board?

Is Loomis a meme, or is "Loomis is a meme" a meme perpetuated by people who don't want others to learn how to draw?

Is there such a thing as a good art Discord server? By definition, Discord is an excuse to procrastinate from studying and grinding your fundies.

Is Loomis for beginners or are you better off starting with somebody else like Hamm? Assuming the art you want to create is the art these two and many from their time made.

His books are basically just "Here is some philosophical jibber jabber, here are some drawn examples, now go!".
There aren't actually any useful tips or instructions in his books, just technique and examples.
