yeah I have practical experience from years of going to art school and shit. And while being able to proportionally draw figures from life is important if you're a student, it doesn't necessarily need to be in practical life. It's like learning cursive.

But yeah more to your point, if someone asked me to draw them from life for this series, I'd tell them that's not the process for the series, because it isn't. If I had time with the subject I'd much rather spend that time taking pictures and being a weirdo about making them stretch their face muscles and stuff. I'm interested in catching expressions that happen spontaneously and can't really be held, and it's a series based around crowdsourcing ideas anonymously from the internet.

Plus we live in an exceptionally trashy culture and there's never been a time when subversive schlocky paintings of memes and reaction faces where more in demand.
