Idk really anon. I don't think I'm good but maybe the pressure and extra time derived from unemployment has made me a bit better in this last year. I had to move to a cheaper more isolated place so that also helped

Do it everyday and try to be totally there, Maybe I'm a brainlet but drawing well requires a ton of focus for me. Sometimes I don't even listen to music, just an app that generates white noise. I also use the pomodoro tecnique through an app called engross that tracks your working hours every day

While doing figure drawing, try to watch at the subject once or twice at most, change things, if something is weird looking on the ref just change it based on what you know, this will improve your working memory and ease the transition to drawing from imagination

I also followed the 1st year of MDJ videos, ymmv but I digest very easily his explanations

If you feel lost. Read The Art Spirit from Robert Henri, that book is a must for any illustrator I would say, I get back to it every 3-6 months, it gives you some sort of guideline about the state of mind you need to be in order to create in a competent/worthy way, it is incredibly motivating without being cuddling, etc...
