/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

I am about to start my second year of being an art student. I am frustrated beyond belief. I can look at art better than mine and realize what they did to make it look like that. Meanwhile, my are looks like shit, and when I try to incorporate those things in and or try to fix them, it keeps looking like shit.

Its like I can't get it past this part. It shouldn't look like this so let me fix it, spend an hour fixing it, fix it into something else equally wrong.
How is it possible to understand and be able to break down the right thing but not able to apply it to your own work?

If I am ever going to improve and hopefully get a job using my skills I can't be drawing like this.
