sorry if this is better off on /beg/ or somewhere. I usually start with a rough layer and then try to redraw on new layers with cleaner lines and build on it, but I feel like I lose whatever appeal was there, even besides line variation. Today I tried just constantly refining the same rough sketch layer and I enjoyed the process and outcome more.
Would I be better off embracing this and learning from artists with a similar process, or should I be trying to condition myself to work with thinner lines and build line confidence? It sort of feels like a crutch.
