I realize it's fun to try and tackle faces first, but i urge all anon doing this fella to try doing picrelated first, for a number of reasons.

First of all, starting learning from doing a face is a very bad idea, since there's a lot of confusing and misleading stuff in there.

Second of all, if you're doing a complex shape from a photo, you better be trying to do that from life first, to feel out the shape.

And to add insult to injury, that image is edited to bring the tones closer together, which makes it a bad image to study from. Honestly, anon posting these shitty picutre he liked to "study" is just impeding your progress.
