Other than like the first 15, most of the first 150 were graphite transfers too. I take a printmaking approach to the production process where I work on multiple canvasses at a time and a big part of that has been that I'm Bunch of reasons why I justify "cheating" and I've said most of them in this thread. Van Gogh cheated and he's who I'm racing, it's a series about about technology and human progress, etc. But the primary reason I don't just draw is to spite (you).

Part of the entire process of this series is that A: I'm actively trying to experiment with subversion, B: It's a narrative experiment about entropy and evolution and learning that starts closer to exact reproduction and moves away from dependence on technology as it progresses, C: the point is that anyone can make art and the rules don't matter. Don't let your memes be dreams.

Nobody really has given a good reason NOT to use grids on big ass paintings. I spend a good amount of time in photoshop setting up the exact framing of the image I want, why the fuck would I just eyeball it?
