>when i was a kid i used to be excited to hear a friend of mine was into art because that meant we could play around with it together, exchange fun ideas through our drawings, do challenges to compare what makes their art theirs and my art mine.

It's a fucking tragedy that the artist relationships I had in middle school are 1000 times more engaging than with a 20 something on the internet. We would share art books and supplies, give real honest feedback that lead to substantial growth, and exchange ideas. I mean goddamn did we exchange ideas, the lunch table was a fucking writers room.

Now all it is just give a heart react to random character doing random thing in a blank void. Because for what ever reason giving any kind of context, detail, information, or god forbid genuine discussion on what you're making would cause your head to explode.

>Finally free of it now and get myself a drawing pad
>I feel nothing but anger and resentment as I should've been way better than I am now
>Try to work on everything at once
>Drawings look horrible and I delete all of them
>Try to follow video lessons
>As soon as I'm done I try to make a full drawing instead, rinse and repeat.
I wish I had someone to hold my hand and yell at me.
