>my faces when you will never, ever be as good at drawing as me
mfw it doesn't matter. It's not a pissing contest. And idk if you're aware but I'm focused on hatching and scratching. I was pretty capable at doing basic shading memes when I was 13.

This idea that everything you do needs to be some kind of "proof" that you're not retarded seems desperate and self-sabotaging. Why not just draw the OP or one of the top images and work on doing something new right now? Why is it all this weird competition for you?

found a bunch of shit from 2005/2006 at my mom's house. This was a hand-drawn chalk pastel I had to do for art class. Was supposed to bring in a picture of a family member and forgot, so I borrowed a picture from the girl sitting across from me and told the art teacher it was little brother. She was very liberal and open-minded or whatever so she didn't take issue with the difference in skin tones. Put him in a desert as a goof.

good tips. Don't really have anything to shitpost about.

And yeah the Bateman nose is really like one bad stroke goofing it up and one or 2 good strokes missing, and it'd be pretty much there.
>Midtones. Many of your paintings really only have one dark shade. You could try mixing more halftones.
Yeah I kind of start always get started with the darks and then stack mid tones and highlights on top. Problem is I generally get distracted and lazy after doing the darks and then when I get back to working on the painting at some point weeks in the future I often am just dumping colors I had from some other painting on it and it all spirals into nonsense.
>It seems to me that your style would be more suited towards a broken color/broken value type of deal.
Can you elaborate on this?

yeah the draper one is definitely one where I was stacking and blending reds and highlights on top so long that the darks got all tinted out and whatever. Should have gone back for the the chin shadows after I got the rest of it sorted.
