It seems this board leans more into digital painting, what with the masters and professionals they always cite and post as examples. I hardly ever see any sort of inking or line art illustrators. There are a lot of posts of people's study sketches that would suggest they want to learn to draw well, but because line art is hardly referenced, it seems more like sketching is just a means to an end to learning the fundamentals to then paint digitally.

The reason I ask is that I see a lot of people arguing over which method of learning is superior to another, but it really depends on what your end goal is, what field you want to be in, if any. Some goals are more creative than others, some require more knowledge of anatomy. Which I also find interesting, this place only cares about drawing people. I don't see as many backgrounds, vehicles, animals, etc. I think if there was more understanding that some avenues require more knowledge in one area than another, fewer people would be so religious about one method over another.
