Think of the values too. There's a light and a shadow side, but we can only be focussed on one.
Either we have our eyes adjusted to the dark and the light coming into the room is blown out, or we have our eyes adjusted to the light and the darkness of the room appears very dark

For this pic I think it's suitable to have our eyes adjusted to the light, so I have made the shadow areas have less contrast, ie the values all sort of merge into one and you can't make anything out.
I also included some amount of chiaroscuro by making the lit area of the background and the bottom of the bed slightly darker, this is to make the light appear stronger at her face. I also added brighter highlights on the eyes to further drive this home

Unfortunately I can't say much about the colours because I don't know much about it myself, sorry
