I would read these books in no particular order, though I recommend starting with How to Draw. I'll attach my art, all done on one layer in photoshop with 100% flow and opacity.

1) How to draw by Scott
2)Simplyfying perspective by Robert Pastrana
3)how to render by Scott
4) realistic light and color by Gurney
5)Loomis proportion/figure book

Pretty much 100 percent of the technical skill is right here, read these books and practice them well over a period of days. Try to learn to see volume and value, this can be done with practice.
