Protip: Approach value as a form of color coding. Here we really only have 4 tones, backdrop, light figure, dark figure and flesh. (interestling note: you can sidestep conventional value-grouping by having each of these tones have their own groups independent of eachother where the dark and light are very near eachother. Nice touch if it was intentional).

The dark figure feels very crammed in so I suggest expanding the width of the canvas a bit.
