You're welcome. A lot of people tell you to avoid using the color picker, as it is somewhat the painting equivalent of tracing. What you should do is to always use your eyes first to your best ability - then use the color picker and try to analyze where you went wrong and make some corrections. Be wary though that depending on the compression of your reference åoctire you might pick up some weird hues with the color picker. Try to click a few times in the same area and find the most average tone.

Check the picture for an explanation of edges, it's watercolour but explains the main idea. Even in a very sharp photograph there is always a a blend of soft and hard edges, or soft and hard transitions.
