>Looking at the entries in the bunny suit challenge
>Lamenting that I neglected to enter, and have now missed the cutoff
>See that I did in fact join the challenge over a month ago, and just forgot
That's a good feeling, ladz. I think I will draw something meaningful this week after all!

A man can sell his soul to make a decent living, but damn if it doesn't cut into one's drawing time.

I worked as a grocery store cashier for several years while paying for college. Back then, it was an interesting environment: there were some high school and college kids (me included), even the best of whom would stick around for only a few years before they went off to or finished college. There were also a handful of full-timers (store director, department managers and assistants, pharmacists, etc.) who had real careers with benefits and a potential future with some hope of retirement. Everybody else was no better than part time, irrespective of how many hours you worked or how much you were paid. You had no benefits and had to make the best of the situation.

Years after I left town, the new Walmart down the street put my store out of business.
