So I been learning to draw the proper way by drawing from life, studying anatomy and figure drawing.

But I can't quite figure out how to implement it to cartoony characters. pic related. I measured the thing to be four heads tall, but at some point I started applying realistic proportions(to the best of my skills) to the body and ended up with this mess. It looks as if the girl is wearing a mascots head and doesn't quite fit.

how does one into stylisation?
