The only thing I'd be worried about with the Intuos 3 Large is that it's not quite the right wide-screen dimensions and I don't recall if you could fit the proportions to your monitor with the older software. Otherwise one of those wouldn't be a bad idea in lieu of the Giano if you're dead set on a Wacom.

I disagree little brother

>go for the Giano if you're savvy with where to download their drivers from or taking a while to find a good Intuos 3 on ebay

I honestly haven't had any problems; it's not like software problems are exclusive to ching-chong tablets in either case. Admittedly I wouldn't trust monoprice or some of those other really-really cheap brands as far as I could throw 'em. The drivers are on their website or in the little 8gb flash drive/wireless adapter.

Intuos 3 Medium isn't all that bad. It has the best surface a material Wacom's tablets ever had (real talk I think the Giano uses the same stuff). What is it, 6x11 (there's a couple different "Medium"s if I recall)? To put it in perspective, even though monitors have been getting bigger and wider over time since its release, the current generation Intuos Medium is 5.3 x 8.5 quite a bit smaller.

You are losing out on quite a few hotkeys vs the newer models, but it's not like you draw with those, anyway. Still, the Giano would have easily been a better choice if it was in your budget.
