Well i used to do (really amateur) realist / photorealist graphite and carbon art, where you need to focus in an area, and when it looks similar enough to the photo, you move on to the next area. It's hard to get used to more "traditional" painting, where fidelity to reality is not that importat (like the artists you recommended me, while their paintings look realistic enough, you can easily still tell that they are paintings).

I think you are right, if I paint from life or if i limit my "working time" I don't have time to focus on small details. Thanks for the advice.

This is the "finished" one tho >>3403764 I spend about 3 hours painting it.

This is another study i painted in less time (about 1 hour), i used bigger brush strokes and tried to keep it simple. What do you think about this one?
