I think I know what gives you trouble, Vilppu uses 3D form to build his gestures which is easier to do than Scrocococo lines.
That said, Proko gestures are good as well except unlike Vilppus the form and construction phase is not taught from the start which make it all look worse at the beginning, you just not getting the oomph from your work but this is actually what this is about.

The moment you apply construction to Proko gesture it actually looks good but first gesture look like something you can find near the the checkout at the gamestop.

Especially if you draw from proko models who are always placed in a pose that makes you tilt your head like little chihuahua which seen her both fat, sweaty, bearded owners fucking for the first time when they didnt noticed her under the blanket, just sit there look at this shit covered monster going in and out in almost complete darkness but as a dog you can tell when its going out because of the smell that almost makes you pass out and little Brraaap sounds.

In the end I think Prokos method has it advantages as long as you realise that gesture fundies will not look good from the start and accept that first gestures will look like noodles on a plate.
Especially that in his example vids he uses construction to some degree and Knowledge of 3D form which student cant do just now but struggling trough this also teaches you something.

I still want to get over Vilppu but fuck me, there is like 30 hours of materials on my HDD and I wonder, what happens to a man that went trough 30 hours of Vilppus dronning.
Will that turn me into one of the old masters or into Vilppus new vessel.
