Nothing to contribute except some work doodles. Very excited to work with Alaisa.

Given that most of the people who cited my issues voted against me, and almost everyone I previously knew going into this thing also voted for Alexis, I don't think there's much evidence of that. I'm surprised by/proud of the votes so far, but I don't think I got patsy points. Pink Anon's entry and my entry were very different, so it's no surprise there's a more profound question of individual taste at play.

I think giving both points makes it easier to record how many voted.

>Cat Cafe: Ormand* vs Vormio
Some creative takes on a very ambiguous prompt. Giving it to Ormand, whose entry I understood and followed easily. Vormio's had impressive composition decisions and a lot of heart, but was far too difficult to read and follow. Ormand does something I hope everyone does--develops a unique meta narrative around his character's participation.

>Riot: Cannon Girl* vs Falcon
Cannon Girl has the finished product, and not only is it finished, it's delightful. It is crippled by its total lack of Falcon, but given the circumstance--and Falcon's not having a comic to offer--CG gets this one by default. Well deserved, still, for wit and humor. A full throated tackle of the prompt, leaving no stone unturned.

>Wines Tasting: Tammy Mato* vs Paulus
Pound for pound, these were weak entries. I'm giving it to Tammy for abiding by the prompt. Paulus's was clever, but you cannot just straight up ignore your opponent.

>Gardening: Soil Repair Unit vs Merachne*
Spectacular. SRU gave me exactly what I wanted and expected from him. Hilarious, clever, thought out. Supreme effort. But in the end, Merachne's unique approach to the contest stole the show. I almost gave it to SRU because of the messed up imgur gallery, but once I saw the comic in the right order, I knew my heart was stolen.

>Sand Castles: Contestro and Berlo vs Amablebot and Jackbot*
This one annoyed me. I love COntestro and Berlo so much. In two pages, they completely dominated my mind and heart. Genius character design, genius characterization. They should have won. They had the power. But a finished product beats an unfinished product every time. The Bot commercial was clever, imaginative, just the kind of creativity this tournament needs. But it gave no characterization of either character. I left confused.

>Opera: Bellboy* vs Lustless
Bellyboy took me on a journey. I'm not one for explicit entries, but I guess that's the name of the Lustless game. I'm giving it to Bellboy for tremendous stroytelling power, although the end to Lustless's entry will haunt me for a long time. She did not, however, spend adequate time on Bellboy. Supporting characters are great, but Akio should not eclpise her opponent.

>Patisserie: Amy and Pauline* vs Boberon and Nathan
I am shocked and appalled to say that I vote against the lads. I absolutely loved their roles in Amy and Pauline's comic, which itself was a masterpiece. It may in fact be a sleeper for the best submission of the round. Not flashy, but hyper competant comicing. Fantastic art, solid dialogue, accurate characterization--it had everything.

Playing Guitar: Janitor vs Louis*
I'm not quite sure I believe Louis's Janitor. My limited understanding of the Janitor is possibly deeply flawed, but I
watched the incredibly impressive animatic with some incredulity. However, it is definitely loyal to the challenge, and it has my kryptonite: references to a tournament narrative. Continuity. So Louis it is.

>Cooking: Sgt. Chadwick vs Prince Alexis
Must abstain.

>Game of Chance: Penelope* vs Fernando
The easiest legitimate choice of the round, which is unfortunate. Fernando is one of the tournament greats, and his artist is *phenomenal*. Sadly, inspiration beats professionalism every day. Percival's comic was unbelievable. Enormously entertaining, beautifully drawn--the most imaginative of the round. Exceptional work in every way. Fernando had a chance against almost everyone else.

>Swimsuit Competition: Mike and Abby vs Bear and Dragon Lady*
Exceptional effort from every contestant. Mike always surprises me with how competent and full his entries are. Airtight. Abby wasn't on my radar, but she's had a meteoric rise--powerful personality that her opponents can have fun with. Loved seeing Dragon Lady finally get her time to shine in a finished product, even if she is coom bait. Bear's comic was lovely, but also teetering on the edge of avoiding the challenge entirely. In the end, it came down to wit. Bear and Dragon Lady characterizations of all four characters was exceptional.

>Dating: Femboy Elf vs Outtake*
I must give it to the full comic. I am obliged. However, I will mention that I had a very hard time making out what was happening towards the end. I'm still not quite sure what happened.

>Museum Heist: Vivian and Alaisa vs Chuckson* and Maiden-4*
By far the hardest decision this round. One of the best showings in either round. Gut busting laughs, tremendous energy of action, clever sequences given the restrictions. I refuse to abstain, so I must give it Chuckson and Maiden for 1 reason: chemistry. Baby Chuckson and Maiden-4 have powerful on-page chemistry. Otherwise, this is a coinflip.

>Catacombs: Princess Dex vs Akio*
Not my type of sequence, but Akio had a solid, polished finished product. Obliged to give him the gold. Always impressive to see Manarchy's imagination at work. Points notwithstanding, they are a consistent, highly talented team.

>Diving: Kevin* vs Senna
Must give it to Kevin. Thought out, finished product of sufficient quality. I almost gave the win to Senna out of sympathy. Time is precious. But Kevin met and exceeded demands. He's probably one of the most appealing characters of the tournament.

>Drinking: Balkari* vs Carolyn
I started typing with one winner in mind, but I decided otherwise by the end. Carolyn comics have one enormous weakness: intelligibility. Despite some of the best composition/lighting in the whole contest, it is too often too hard to make out what is happening in critical panels. Balkari may often be sketchier and less refined, but Ardi has a striking sense of comedic timing and a commendable grasp of his opponent's characters. His comics make his opponent comics better.

Had to start my own entry before I finished, so this is still WIP

SKATEBOARDING
Mike >>6613434 vs Cannon Girl >>6615821
>Cannon Girl (Team dynamics will win almost *every* time, very well done.)

GOLF
Merachne >>6613703 vs Vormio >>6616570
>Merachne (Love the style, love the character design, and it was hilarious. Triple threat. Also finished product.)

CHESSBOXING
Vivian vs Penelope >>6613902
>Penelope (I have no idea how I'm supposed to judge this. Absurdly well done. I feel like a chump. The first part of the match, however, was drawn too well to not give my vote. Thrilling art style. Can't wait to see more.)

PARKOUR
Balkari >>6614347 vs Maiden-4 >>6614253
>Balkari (This felt impossible. I almost flipped a coin. Ultimately, Balkari's submission is a better display of both character's abilities. The difference was negligible up until I *had* to pick. Balkari is actually too OP for my blood, but that's not a fair bit of criteria to judge)

FENCING
Prince Alexis >>6614922 vs Alaisa >>6616668
>Alaisa (Came down to SOVL and Alaisa had it in spades. Lively comic, clever solutions to power imbalances.)

TRIATHLON
Chuckson >>6615567 vs Antonio >>6614922
>Chuckson (Once again, a question of Soul. One of my favorite submissions of the whole first round. It had everything.)
ARMWRESTLING
Nathan Higgs >>6616040 vs John Jack Jacobson >>6614922
>Nathan (Teammate, also really funny. Also my unfortunate animus against potty humor. That's actually what made this an easier decision than I first thought. I really liked Antonio's otherwise.)

100M DASH
Jed vs Turtloli >>6616742
>Jed (Teammate, but this is the third impossible choice. I am speechless. Turtoli has won me over in a profound way)

RACEWALKING
Contestro >>6612806 vs Tammy Mato >>6616701
>Contestro (Selfish one this time. I just like his design. And it was funny)

"Golems? This and that farming one, cruel mockery of life. We'll show em who's boss soon enough."
HUNTING
Captain >>6612815 and Falcon >>6613598 vs Femboy Elf and Kevin >>6615543
>Kevin (I love Kevin.)

"More bloody sodomites. And gangly freaks to boot."

TUG OF WAR
Outtake >>6612834 (with Bear’s Blessing >>6614949 ) vs Akio and Amable >>6614922
>Outtake and Bear (Bear's dialogue won me over, but it was often difficult to make out his drawings. Outtake's was very cute. In the end, I am prejudiced against potty humor)

"This ain't no place for children... and that's bad news for them."

TABLE TENNIS
Pauline >>6612962 vs Cassia >>6613251
>Pauline (Unfortunate. Cassia was polished, but I can't in good conscience vote for what is essentially an unresolved 4 page opening sequence. Pauline's was very long, but that became a problem in large part because the quality degraded rapidly into unintelligible panels. That said, a finished product has to be commended whenever possible.)

"The nunneries will be fit to bursting by the time I'm done here..."

SUMO
Dragon Lady >>6613412 vs Boberon >>6612984
>Boberon (Teammate, also unless I'm missing something, this is another unfortunate instance of a finished product vs an unfinished product. I absolutely *love* both art styles. Might be my favorite this round, well done.)

"I BELIEVE 'IM."

Never posted my Intro comic, so I'll use that.

SURFING
Fernando >>6612750 vs Louis >>6614922
>Fernando (Short, crisp, consistent, accomplishes a lot with comparatively very little--and I have a soft spot for successful silent sequences)

"Bloody sodomites all over the shop... but that Fernando bloke has a familiar look in his eye. Not afraid of wet work, that one."

SHOOTING
Carolyn >>6612766 vs Sgt. Chadwick >>6617547 (You)
>Carolyn (Excellent showing, and I, too, have too much dignity to vote for myself)

"Better luck next time, my ducky."

TENNIS
Ormand >>6612775 and Lustless >>6613884 vs Abby and Anzu >>6616789

>Abby and Anzu (Extremely appealing duo dynamic, and all on his own, too. Clever girl.)

"She's got natural charisma, that one. No faffin' about, putting that fairy to work."

BILLIARDS
Paulus >>6612788 vs Janitor >>6613666
>Janitor (Made me laugh out loud. This guy knows pacing)

"Upstart. Peasant what doesn't know his place. We can fix that, we can."

STARCRAFT
Soil Repair Unit >>6612793 vs Amy >>6612851
>Soil Repair Unit (This might be the hardest call of them all. I refuse to abstain. Dialogue made the difference.)

FIGURE SKATING
Leuca >>6612804 and Bernard >>6612798 vs Bellboy and Senna >>6613100
>Leuca and Bernard (Teammates, also loved the dynamic between the two. I will always defer to characterization reflexively)

"I expect no less."
