What the hell is this "art for art's sake" shit coming from? And you say this artist is pretentious..... Unless you know what the hell you're talking about, don't even comment. Learn that there is an art world out there other than your scribbles in your drawing pad and Loomis....

I personally do not care for this piece, but it has merit and great craftsmanship, and I can say that even though I believe the concept behind is too blazingly obvious for the viewer.

Don"t comment on things you don't know about... If you are/were a tattooist, you would know ink has changed a lot and progressed in the last 50 years. These tattoos will hold up just fine until that person ceases. Any knowledgeable artist would know that, so it seems you're just talking out of your ass.

Yes, colors will fade, all ink fades with age and amount of sunlight, but it will still be obviously legible, and hold up fine, and will not bloat or bleed if that tattoo is done correctly and the skin ins't chewed up in the process, which any decent/skilled tattooist would know not to do...

I don't understand why anyone has trouble finding references for people. Do you not know anyone in real life? There are people everywhere..... Ask you friends, parents, brothers/sisters if you can take some reference photos of them at different angles. It honestly isn't that hard...

No offense, but it is quite stupid for you to design someone's tattoo instead of having the actual tattoo ARTIST design it. As it is, when he brings this design in, at least to any have skilled artist that cares, it is going to be redesigned anyways...

With that said, the crab looks decent, but the 69 on top looks like an afterthought, and is not cohesive whatsoever with the rest of the drawing.

Use this OP, this is as close as you're gong to get to human flesh. Contact your local taxidermist, or search online for tanned hides, they will last a lifetime as long as they are cared for.
