It's an edit of pic related, of which there are many, where the guy making a reasonable suggestion is thrown out the window. In this it's a meta joke since the object being thrown actually does "move" in Conway's game of life

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway%27s_Game_of_Life

In a 2x2 square, each cell has three neighbors, so none of them die. And none of the cells outside of it has exactly three neighbors, so no new cells come to life. So the square stays still. (The first configuration also stays still, for basically the same reasons.)

For the vertical 3-cell line, the middle cell persists, the top and bottom die, and there are two empty cells that have three neighbors, so they come to life. So in the next generation, the vertical line becomes a horizontal line. And in the generation after that it turns back, and that keeps happening, so it's said to "blink".

The third object is a "glider", meaning that it moves consistently, basically by spawning new cells in front of it while deleting cells behind it, in each generation.
