There's two factors here. The HD558 are relatively neutral headphones, which coming from garbage (which is always v-shaped) might take a while to get used to.

This is a blog post but I didn't realize it until I was done sorry.
The LCD2C may be better than the 2F but I haven't heard them. I find it difficult to take someone liking something seriously though. You really need to be using headphones for a long ass time to learn what you like in my opinion. I loved the original Bose On Ear when I was 15 and the original ATH-M50(to be fair its better FR wise than the m50x) when I was 16. At 21 I "upgraded" to a DT990 and Topping TP30 and it blew my mind how good they were. When I had to sell them I even bought another pair in 2016 because I thought they were that fucking good.
Clearly those are all bad headphones but I liked them.
Now I just like the HD660S and when I get a chance to compare a HD800 with EQ and sealed L300/L700 I'll sell all my other shit and move on up.

Having both owned headphones from both companies (DT880, T1 and HD600)…neither is better. They're different. Senn has the relaxing put you to sleep sound, non fatiguing but neither very engaging. Beyers crank treble levels to give it abit more airiness and sense of detail, which also introduces sibilance.

Going back and forth when the senns are on - i miss the airyness of the beyers. With the beyers on - i always stumble on a song with too hot treble.

Gun to head I'd take a T1 (or a DT880 since its sound sig is 90% of the T1) and EQ the FR by about 5db in the 8k region. Get a good parametric eq like EasyQ for foobar and save yourself hundreds. When corrected for 'errors' (based on my preference) the beyers have better instrument placement and has wider soundstage overall. It's just easier to eq down the sibilance on the beyer than to try and add detail to the senns.

As for amps- my HPA-2, yamaha aventage A3000 and a fiio e18 all sound the same. I doubt anyone will tell the difference in a double blind test.

I'm in the market for some new headphones and was thinking about these, LyxPro OEH-10.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with these?

When do they usually issue 15-20% coupons? Christmas?

This one I've mentioned is listed on a site similar to craigslist (except my country), and I have the option of offering less if needed. Seller responded to my query with
>"I think they are 5 years old, headphones are in good condition but the earpads are a bit dusty. "

There is one auction on Ebay which is already at the equivalent of a $200 USD bid (-5% with P5OFF) although I don't know how old it is.

Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120-K

I want some wireless earbuds that I can wear all day at work. I love my cheapo Panasonic ErgoFits cuz they sound great for what I paid ($7) but the wire is always getting caught on my chair arm.

I know it's intimidating but if you do have a good paypal account I strongly suggest posting a WTB add on headfi. They will beat ebay prices even with a coupon usually.
I'm not too sure how often they do the coupon, google would know.
$180 is the standard ebay price for a HD600 so you're not getting ripped but you can do better. Buy it if you want.
If you happen to find one at $170 during a coupon you would only be paying $134 for example which is ludicrous for the performance you're getting.
I still buy HD58X for $150 and EQ any day tho

im thinking of getting Sennheiser HD 280 PRO again. i've had them before and they were great. i also had Sennheiser HD 598 and i did not notice a sound difference between them and the 280. i like the 280 because they had great noise cancellation and a large bass. i did not like the 598 because they leaked sound ALOT and were not that much better despite being more expensive
