Arch has *never* been minimalist... a Linux kernel with every module
available and every feature enabled at least when there's no non-bloat
related cost, feature-packed/complex GNU tools, nearly all optional
features enabled across all the packages, etc.

It has never been a minimalist distribution. Splitting packages is rare
compared to other distributions, and dependencies aren't made optional
whenever possible.

No, I didn't mean parabola. I'm not afraid of any init system, I just want to not use systemd because extra bloat/RAM usage. What is better for programming/development, Arch or Devuan? The one thing I don't like about Debian is update-alternatives, like when somehow "startx" automatically chooses the last WM I installed when run. And it's not editing .xinitrc, I have no idea how it's doing it. Arch explicitly makes you edit .xinitrc to choose which WM you run. This happens for a lot of features in Debian/Ubuntu programs, like how Debian automatically installs proper syntax highlighting files in nano.

Nah. The only distro that I would say is a meme is Ubuntu. Ubuntu is unironically horrible.
All other distros, especially distros that are systemdless with fine repositories, are cool.
I would personally suggest Parabola more because of the AUR, but if you are looking for something extremely lightweight, grab Void.

Two pieces of advice.

Do you really need Tilix? That thing has God knows how many dependencies. Are you not OK with just a normal terminal?

Secondly, make yourself stand out by changing the colour bars there on neofetch, which will in turn change some of the colours in your terminal. You should be able to do this somewhere with the Preferences menu of your terminal.

I have NEVER seen an Ubuntu user change their terminal colours and it always makes the colour bar and their neofetch look shit. If you changed the colours it would look way better and that you actually had some semblance of an idea about what you're doing.

I had a huge breakthrough with my current project, which I'm super happy about. I've been working on my own little embedded OS, but I've been really struggling to get preemptive multitasking to work. I kept running into issues switching between the two stack pointers on the ARM chip I'm working with, so I just said fuck it and figured out a way to do the context switches with only the user-mode stack pointer. This has nothing to do with anything, but I need your guys' opinion.

I bought a Netgear C7000v2 today. I get 300 mbps internet from Cox. My wired connection brings in 337 mbps with this thing, which is great, but only 90mbps (tops) on the wireless, which is horrible. That's not even 33%. I called tech support, and the Indian dude had me change some channel settings, but that barely did shit.

Is there some simple problem for me to fix, or does the router portion of this thing just blow? The dude said to maybe wait 24 hours, but I don't know how the hell that's supposed to change anything.

I'm probably going to return it, then buy a seperate router, and seperate modem. What are your recommendations? Or is there a way to fix what I got now?
