Get 55 everytime, it's strictly superior. It's more tactile, which is the point of topre. If you want "linear" topre get a plum keyboard 35g. Topre is arguably end game tactile because of how smooth it is. If you're getting the realforce the primary benefit over the other boards is that it's available in 55g.
Another option would be to buy a plum board in your layout of choice, BKE redux domes, and some lube for the sliders. That's my plan at the moment.

I love the feel of the 1987 ALPs switches and keycaps on the Mac 2 keyboard. But I don't have an ABD to USB adapter (ordered a Teenesy 2.0 to make one), so in the mean time I swapped the keycaps from the Mac keyboard onto this shitty Rosewill Striker.

2. Kryox gpl lube on the stems
3. gh60 pcb
4. wooden chassis
5. sound dampening material in the chassis to try and lower the pitch of the click
6. enjoypbt black on beige english set
I was thinking of putting 62g springs in the box navies depending on how they feel stock.
I'm looking for a very tactile, lowest possible pitch, clicky experience.

Okay. that is a fair point. I am only interested in the noise dampening effects of the wood. I know for a fact aluminum chassis make switches even more high pitched, so they're off the table.
This looks so well made, I feel like it would be fine. I could always replace it with a $14 case should it warp.
I'm not a wood worker so i'm kind of limited to things I can just buy. Do you have any links to what you're talking about?
Remember, we want low pitched satisifying clicks here. There are very few high quality plastic chassis for 60%, only aluminum which has the opposite effect and makes things more high pitched.

Have a das 4 pro with browns at home and like it

Looking for something with Bluetooth/ 2.4 GHz usb. I'm a software developer, forced to use a new macbook pro, so lol no ports. I was issued a dongle with a single usb-a port. I'd rather not have a rats nest of cables on my desk.

I'm looking at the Varmilo vb87m and the filco majestouch convertible tkl. Does anybody have any experience with either of these? Any alternatives to recommend?

>> No.64030427

guys, is there a keyboard that has integrated voice recognition?

>> No.64030465

I have the vb87m and not only myself but many other people had nothing but problems with it's wireless capabilities. Remember, it is bluetooth ONLY. You can't just plug it in and use it like a normal keyboard.
Compromise on the form factor and get something good. Perhaps a minila, or even a plum 74 bluetooth for $130, the $30 65g dome sheet from korea on ebay, and put the last $15 into lube and a paint brush to apply it.
AVOID vb87m. Just take a look at ebay, you'll see all the fucked up units from the massdrop group buy.

Anything without function and cursor keys is out - I use them quite frequently, so anything with fewer than 84 keys is out.

It sounds like you're advocating building my own keyboard. Are there kits for 84/87/104 key Bluetooth keyboards?

>> No.64031025

There are kits, but since BT is a niche they're supper expensive. Like a BT TKL PCB is 110 bucks all by its self. Add the case, switches, keycaps, etc. and you're looking at 250-300 bucks for a keyboard. Getting a prebuilt is much cheaper even though they all suck

Hey guys. Looking to switch from my super old Das Keyboard with Blue switches to a new Tenkeyless (or 65%? arrow keys should be there) keyboard for some more space on my desk. I'm in Germany and budget is around 120€~ (preferably the keyboard should be available on ebay.de since they have a -15% off event today). I wouldn't be opposed to new switches but I haven't tried anything except Blues and I am kind of used to them now. No need for LED.
Any suggestions?

if you want something cheap you might be able to find a uaws cm novatouch on ebay or something like that - it's just a shame they're not sold new anymore, it's topre with mx stems (so you can keep your existing cherry keycaps) and it won't have the HUGE price markup that topre/hhkb keyboards have

It seems like pimpmykeyboard's translucent keycaps are made of polycarbonate. How is polycarb compared to ABS and PBT?

Bought some origns from my local store and they shorten a bit the travel and add a light mushiness only noticeable if you are into keyboards also they damper a bit the sound but not much or something impressive because part of the sound also happens when the switch goes up. Where can i buy some more and with different hardness? those that i bought cost 0.30€ each so they are a no go.

So glad I fell for this meme. They feel so good and smooth. The click sound much better than regular blues and the push back is great... Still not as good as buckling springs, but it is still a joy to type on

>> No.64052550

Gateron browns are basically the better version according to everyone. Smoother with stronger pushback. With 100 you can get a cheap 50 usd jamesdonkey with brown switches and try them out.

Some Recommendations for Gateron Browns.

>Magicforce tkl or full
>James Donkey tkl or full
>Rantopad (if they are still selling the gateron browns)

most plastic bottles are made from PC plastics, but my guess is that since they're thicker they will feel a bit different.

I had the brown switch model for a couple weeks before I sold it off on ebay. Although I liked the thumb clusters a lot, I couldn't stand the idea of being chained to this one obscure model of keyboard for the rest of my life (couldn't go back and forth from PC to laptop without trying to backspace on the lappy with the spacebar, for example).

These days I use a program called Touchcursor on all my computers which allows me to do everything the thumb clusters offered on a regular keyboard without having to move my hands from home row. It's fucking awesome and costs $0 instead of ~$300

I've gotten so lucky with peripherals lately. I got a Logitech MX518 mouse at a thrift store a few months ago for $3 and today I found a Logitech G610 with Cherry MX Browns for $5. I don't know who else to tell other than 4chan because I'm a loser.

>> No.64054862

It’s not like those keyboards are worth that much. Put them up on Craigslist or eBay

>> No.64056023

why do people like big key mechanical keyboards it makes your typing so clunky and ploddy

>> No.64056074

it actually makes your typing faster, to fast as some people say. those big old mechanical keyboards had no delay when pressing a button and having it register on screen since these keyboards were designed for professional typists. so most people get an adapter to slow it down a bit. now if you type at 150+ wpm you shouldn't have problems

Why would you ruin a mosin with something so ugly and tasteless? I'm not talking about the shoulderpad.

seriously dude, get some mental help mutilating your body like that is not normal in the slightest, you are very mentally ill. if you dont stop that shit then i can assure you that you will end up killing yourself by 30 or 40.

you just full of shit and assumptions that some ecelebs spoon feed you for months and now you project it to a random person that only posted a photo showing 5% of his body. Im not really about this type of therapy where the solution is to transform your self in what your mind is telling you rather i prefer that people accept them self as they are but sometimes it just helps. Some woman get absolutely destroyed after they get their boobs removed because of cancer, the easiest solution for them to mentally recover is to just reconstruct that boob, makes wonders(don't cut your benis do).

Well I'm in a relationship, one where I'm happily owned, so yeah if my owner would allow it then sure, but she keeps me pretty closely, I'm a good pet to her and even though she sees me as her property it's the truth.
