What sort of caps would look good on a Pok3r or other 60%? (If I get another board in the future, it'd probably just be an infinity 60% or something more programmable than the Pok3r). I'm using tai-hao miami right now, but it's a set bought before they started offering caps without the creepy coating. I'm basically used to it now, but it's still disturbing. $46 isn't too bad. I often see prices for weird custom sets from GMK that end up over $100, so I considered reasonable sets like tai-hao to be more in the minority. I might end up picking up a blank set of g20 then. The only concern I have is that I have a $30+ cable with a coil in it that was made to match the godspeed set. I got it before they dropped a miami cable, since it roughly matches the miami. So now I don't know if I should go with something to match the cable or not. They don't have previews for every color, which sucks. I'd probably want a light blue or light pink color. I may just play it safe and get black. I found where they show plastic colors, but I can't find either of the blues that g20 comes in on there. I see a good pink and blue among the red/blue, but not ones that are a choice for the g20.

No clue where to post this so I will do it here. I use left Alt key a fucking lot for games and stuff. Is there any keyboard that may have the Alt key a bit more to the right? Its not really comfortable to use WASD+LAlt. Like, invading the spacebar zone maybe?. All I want is an Alt replacement that is in the same zone, without remapping spacebar.

Most people who use that as an argument against Ms haven't used neither an F nor a well boltmodded M. You will find that a boltmodded M (or an M with all of its rivets still holding) feels very crisp (though, admittedly, still not QUITE as crisp as an F). As I'm wiring my rows, I'm already thinking about how the columns will be wacky. The I/O MCP23018 I/O expander for the smaller left-hand side has open-drain outputs, but the teensy, generally, does not.

So, on one side of the keyboard, I'll need to use columns as "inputs", but on the other side the rows will be "inputs". The alternative would be to put the transistors in rows on one side and columns on the other, but I'd rather have the visual consistency I think.

I like the blue logo buckling switches and matias quiet boards. I am starting to like Matias less and less though because they are really stiff. I don't know if it is just over time or my keyboard is defective.

I also really like gateron browns because the push back is really good. Alot of people did not like the Halo True switches, but I liked them as well but not my favorite though.

I recently tried outemu ice purple which actually seem to be smoother zealios with a more pronounced bump. I am definitely buying more of those. It is still early to tell if it is my favorite.

Currently my favorite are the ibm buckling spings blue logo. I have a grey logo... but for some reason they feel lighter than the blue logo one. according to reddit, geekhack, and here, they are exactly the same.

Are you aware of the key chatter problems with matias switches? That's why I didn't buy one.
I just bought a leopold from the same line as the fc750r and the quality is out of this world. There were things that were not advestised on the listing that are my favorite parts.
So the keycaps not only have this very nice course texture but the whole chassis has the same one.
Inside the chassis there is sound dampening and I thought it was a meme but comparing to videos of the same switch(clear) it really does noticeably lower the pitch of the switches.
Three way cable routing on the bottom.
5 dip switches including the only one that matters, l ctrl with capslock.
I'd get the leopold unless you know how to solder/desolder.
Also don't get those ugly green ones that just came in stock on mk.com
also the fc980m has a full num pad but is only 1u wider than a tkl.
also im a fat retard

>getting a bunch of machining tools for my workshop
will you send me pictures of all your beautiful machines if I give you my contact information?

I haven't been up to very much related to mechanical keyboards since I haven't been up to very much at all. Mainly trying to maintain a regular sleep/wake cycle while slowly learning how to human.
Other than that, there's a hackerspace with laser-cutters and all kinds of 3D printers and other tools and machines close to where I live now. The laser-cutters are great for cutting keyboard cases of any size you'd want to make a keyboard, so I'll probably be making a lot of keyboards with acrylic cases once I'm up and running again. Got a range of keyboard-things that I want to try out.
