But, yeah, older first version quickfire rapid boards were pretty much the same thing. Later they changed the casing to a thinner plastic (grey version without branding and black versions), so it wasnt as sturdy. Also, every quickfire had a shitty rubber coating on the case, its really hard finding a quickfire nowdays without peeling marks.

Main difference besides the case was the PCB, Filco MJ2 always had double sided PCBs, while quickfires had single sided ones, resulting in cracks and defective joints.

Nowadays Masterkeys line has nothing to do with older quickfires. They changed the OEM, case is way thinner, plate is bent differently, and they use disgusting upside down switches.

True, they aren't even cup rubber either so they aren't as good as the regular BKE domes

Great, you said it again, but how about explaining why cherry is "flawed in nature"? And what fucking firmware are you talking about? And no, you not liking their tactility does not mean they are shit, again, that would be your OPINION.
Don't get me wrong asshat, I'm not shitting on topre, I've never even tried them. I just don't understand why people on here say cherry is shit when they make good switches, very good considering their accessibility and price.

you..... LOL OWNED KID!!!!

>> No.63221229

Topre is rated for 50 million key presses with out chatter, where as cherry is 0. That's because of their shitty leaf design that bounces around like an uppity nigger when pressed. Over time this problem gets worse and worse, and so the firmware has to adjust for this. It like that by design so you have to pray to the cherry gods you don't get a shit switch. If you don't want rubber domes you can get other mechanical switches that don't have this problem, because they were properly designed.

debounce times. seriously do you not know how a MX switch works? you're already on the internet so just use google

>> No.63221350

Right, so every contact based switch (cherry, alps, buckling springs, everything) is bad in design because you cant wait for a 8ms debounce.

Must make a hell of a difference on your gaymen. 8ms faster, a true pro gaymen! Well, people are actually used to debounce time, the lack of it was one of the major complaints on xmit's hall effect keyboard.

nope, just the good ones. proper switches were designed to solve this problem with the need for processing power, and cherry switches are just not that good. why are you trying so hard to justify a poorly designed switch. I have nothing against poor people, but do go around pretending the shit you buy is of high quality.

>> No.63221474

the fuck? this is the dumbest tin foil red pilled shit i've ever heard of, how would debounce times ever affect you in a real time scenario?

>> No.63221496

Key chatter can be a problem if you don't keep your keyboard clean, yes. It also comes with age of the switch, but as you said not every switch is affected and you can fix it with firmware if you absolutely must. Then again you can clean or perhaps even replace old cherry switches, something that is much harder to do with topres
>>63220803 . Considering their price it's fair that you would have to exchange at least a few cherry switches if you really plan to use your keyboard for ages, especially since topre switches don't age perfectly as well, see >>63220998

Oh, really? Explain me how a contact based switch solved the bounce issue than. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Every contact based switch will have this, its how a contact work. Dont believe me? Here is cherry datasheet, 5ms bounce time:

Here is alps, same 5 ms:

Omrons even recommend 5 to 15 ms. Makes no fucking difference on real world applications.

PBT is a brittle plastic that breaks easily, so in order to make sure it doesn't they make them extra thicc. When /mkg/ tells you to get thick PBT it isn't for the memes, but rather for the extra strength

Proper typing posture with raised hands has your thumb flat across at the spacebar. If you see someone with a reversed spacebar they're objectively typing wrong.
