Question for the keyboard nerds here. Why do you guys like keys with no characters on them? I know the standard answer will be, "because I rely on muscle memory", but what if you forget a key position? Often when we start learning new text editing software, we need to retrain our muscle memory. No characters on the keys seem to make this difficult. Here with some information about this pos I bought off amazon. Using it at work since I don't trust the pajeets not to spill coffee on something expensive.
Now, seriously, for this price this keyboard is genuinely great.
For just £30, it feels 10x better than the membrane I used before. That being said, it's nothing like the keyboard I have on my desk at home, which is cherry blues.
the worst thing about it is the absolutely shitty way the keys have been printed. It started to rub off litterally less than a month after I got it. However, if you know where all the keys are and you don't care about aesthetics (which I don't at work) then it's fine.
For anyone wondering, the switches are supposed to be cherry blue equivalents (part of the reason i got it, since that what I use) but they're much harder. I don't have much experience with anything other than blues, and this aint them.
The switches are loud, but not loud enough that anyone in my office cares. (or if they do, even when I asked them "is my keyboard annoying" they said no)

so if you're really wanting something cheap, or you're looking to cut your teeth on something, this could be the board for you.

Britbong link, but it's AUKEY so i imagine you can get it anywhere.

The only reason that space on the HHKB can go unused is because they're really terrible to hit normally, since they're all directly under your palm. If the spacebar was 2u shorter with keys added to each side, your thumbs would have something else to do.

>> No.63192566

MOD-M switches, whatever weight those are. I tried the other two but forgot which I liked the most out of the three so I just ordered the middle ones.

And makes sense, I was just saying this build in a semi-hhkb layout made me realize that I wouldn't miss having keys in the corners if I used an HHKB layout.

the third CTRL would be useless and repetitive and caps lock has questionable utility in general

It's not about the backslash.
It's about the enter.
ISO puts the enter key further away from the home row an all you get in return is a slightly more accessible backslash key. Chances are, you use enter a hell of a lot more than you use backslash.

I've always explained layers as moving the keys to your fingers instead of vice versa. Much more ergonomic to not have to take your hand off the keyboard to hit pgdn or something like that.
