Are eGPUs finally gonna take off now that Apple added native eGPU support in macOS High Sierra?

no, not at all
I base my opinion on whether it's able to boot up without crashing.
I base it on whether it's able to launch a file manager within 15 minutes
I base it on whether it lets me log in
I base it on whether I have to remember a hundred million arbitrary shortcuts in order to do basic stuff other OSs need a single click for
I base it on whether I can easily work with multiple windows without having to connect 5 additional displays
I base it on design decisions that don't make sense when thought to the end

It has a nice terminal, I'll give it that

>I base it on whether I have to remember a hundred million arbitrary shortcuts in order to do basic stuff other OSs need a single click for
well, they aren't arbitrary, they usually are relevant to the thing you want to do (example: clikc on the close button with shift, which is also known for selecting more than one thing, closes all windows of the application)
>I base it on whether I can easily work with multiple windows without having to connect 5 additional displays
although there is quick snapping for more than two windows, it's gotten better
>I base it on design decisions that don't make sense when thought to the end
so, you're saying you want your os' design decisions to not make sense? well, i cant give macOS a check for that, because it usually is pretty solid.

Apple laptops have some of the best, most reliable hardware available.
For as long as I've known, the only argument against fagbooks was "muh games" and "muh VR"
Now that they're fixing that, you're just angry.

That's not the case.
Over my life, I've been through three different laptops from different manufacturers at that price, and each one has failed because they take shortcuts with cheap chinese parts. Sure, the specs were fucking awesome, and they all had raving reviews. Use one for more than two years though, and you've got structural chassis failures at best.

Every time I come across people using those Macs, they don't have any major issues (other than wanting to buy the next flashiest thing). My screen hinge broke because they screw it in with plastic connectors, and the battery dies (actual warning lights) within a year. I've gone through three.

That's not the manufacturer's fault, it's yours. They're in the business of creating computer, not weatherproof electronic devices. Use some common sense.
This is all the fault of "extended warranty' programs like Apple Care and the shit Best Buy peddles. People now think a warranty is actually universal product insurance.

But do you have what it takes to be a Freetard? To join those esteemed GNU/ranks? To call yourself a member of the Free Software Foundation? Free software takes talent, that much is true. But more than that it takes heart. The world-class freetards - I mean the big guys, like Banlu Kemiyatorn and Eben Moglen - they're out there day and night, burning the midnight freedom-oil, working tirelessly to craft that next big free license. And you know what, kid? 99 times out of a hundred, that new license fails. I would love to smash your face in until it no longer resembled anything human, faggot.
Die painfully okay? Preferably by getting crushed to death in a garbage compactor, by getting your face cut to ribbons with a pocketknife, your head cracked open with a baseball bat, your stomach sliced open and your entrails spilled out, and your eyeballs ripped out of their sockets. Fucking bitch
I would love to kick you hard in the face, breaking it. Then I'd cut your stomach open with a chainsaw, exposing your intestines. Then I'd cut your windpipe in two with a box cutter. Hopefully you'll get what's coming to you.
Fucking bitch I really hope that you get curb-stomped. It'd be hilarious to see you begging for help, and then someone stomps on the back of your head, leaving you to die in horrible, agonizing pain. Faggot
Shut the fuck up faggot, before you get your face bashed in and cut to ribbons, and your throat slit. You're dead if I ever meet you in real life, fucker. I'll fucking kill you.
I would love to fucking send your fucking useless ass to the hospital in intensive care, fighting for your worthless life.

Literally not what I said. I said when you purchase a laptop at least $800, "you expect it to not have every component bolted to a plastic chassis with threading screws".
Do you know what "threading screws" are?
They're one-way screws designed to cut into whatever material they're screwed in. Over use and time, they completely fracture the material they're screwed into.

Just because they're portable doesn't mean they're designed to take abuse.
I don't expect significant chassis protection from any laptop manufacturer, Apple or otherwise. Laptops are designed to work like laptops, not to be dropped.
Just like smartphones are designed to be the thinnest computers you can hold, not a toy block of steel.

>apple mightnt be run by retards but the products are bought by retards
Nice argument there.

>thats why they have magnetic chargers so you mongoloids can plug it in instead of bashing your stick on rocks
Funny you should mention that, unfortunately Apple discontinued those.
I've come across dozens of PC with that shitty two-pronged thin piece of metal charging connector, and with out fail they fail from regular usage.
A computer is supposed to be designed for the humans.
The humans aren't supposed to adapt to arbitrary computer standards.

Touchscreen is a dying fad, and literally every laptop with it has a greasy display.

>This Warranty does not apply to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;

The battery is a consumable part.
It diminishes over time.
What are you, an idiot?
Everyone knows batteries go bad over time, and if they're not replaced they explode. This happens literally to every since battery-driven device in existence.
Even Teslas need them changed.

Protip, it's not under the fan. See where those black curvy rectangles end up? Yes, that's where it is.
