Yes, anything decently heavy and full travel. If that's all you care about, an old 90's rubber dome board may be what you want for like $5.

Well when I say "catch on" I mean "I don't place my finger correctly and end up pressing another key down with the edge of my finger." so I don't know that different keycaps would help. I think mine might already be DSA anyway, there's no angle to any of them.

EU options are great, but I don't mind buying from china and waiting.

>Preferred switch type
I was thinking along the lines of Clears or Tactile Greys.
I really like high resistance in the switches (prefer greens over blues).
I also really like clicky switches, but want to try something new and different.

Not important.
All things equal, ISO is preferred.

>Form factor
Needs to be compact for the lapboard, but still have arrow keys for my normie friends.

Not important.

I'd go with a Preonic in your position, it's way easier to mod in and you'd probably only need the top plate and PCB. Them just buy keycaps and the switches themselves. Programming in arrow keys is also piss easy and it looks really good.

>> No.60242582

No. Das 3 onwards are all about paying more for a low quality board with less features. The chinky costar stabs they use are wobbly as shit, the keycaps are thin, garbage ABS and it doesn't have anythinglike backlighting or programmability despite having a pricetag matching boards that do. Also from the Das 4 Mac and 4C onwards they've switched from genuine Cherry switches to cheaper Greetech switches while keeping the price the same, just like Razer did.

>> No.60242621

That is an amazing idea! I really hadn't thought of getting a kit.

I'm kind of worried about having an ortholinear keyboard as a second keyboard. I think it'll be tough to build up the muscle memory for it, with the use I'm imagining.

Then again, I won't be typing that much on it, so it's not that bad, and it definitely is something different.

I just might get this. Thanks!

Building a new pc when Vega releases but I want to go ahead and get a new keyboard since I accidentally broke the last foot a few weeks ago. I've never actually owned a mechanical keyboard, but I have used them and know that's what I want. I just don't know a whole lot about them. Maybe you can help me?
