clears are too heavy for me. i like typing on them for like a single typing test, but cannot do it for very long.

i think matias quiet clicks are my favorite tactile switch so far (more tactile than browns, but seem a bit heavier, and also quieter), but all my keycaps are for mx stems and pretty much every MQC board i've tried have had some minor qc issue.

currently using a matias mini quiet pro at work. only one of my arrows keys occasionally doesn't register when i press it so it's about as good as i can hope for (which is still awful considering i've never had any such issues with $10 logitech/microsoft keyboards).

That's just some ridiculous "lol look at me hack mom" garbage. You get used to that bullshit and you're useless on a normal keyboard you will be issued at any job.

Whatever this is, I hope it's edible. Otherwise it's useless.

One of the best days of my childhood life was when dad got his first rubber dome. The days of that ear rape was finally over. No more sounds of trench warfare from my dad's mancave that reverberated throughout the small apartment. Finally getting some sleep.

Fuck you fetishists, you don't know what it was like. You play around with this crap like it's harmless, a neat retro curiosity. Fuck off.

This doesn't look stylish, it looks like a backdrop from a '60s sci-fi attempt.

Custom 40% I've been working on on and off for the past three years.
I want to finish it eventually though. Got a few different case designs that I worked on but as student I cant afford to have a prototype milled out of aluminum and I'm not a fan of layered cases. There still are a few things I changed and have yet to change for the next PCB revision anyway.

Standard 40% is barely usable and you made this 35% which is even more of a cancer to use?

>> No.58527655

That's a matter of opinion. I've been using prototypes of my keyboard to write code for many hours and tweaked the layout every now and then.
I can type up to 80wpm on it which isn't too bad compared to my 110wpm on the HHKB.
For coding WPM is even less important and it allows me to have a vim style navigation layer everywhere.

I just wanted a super portable mechanical keyboard and at the time I started there was nothing like it that you could buy. By now there are a couple 40% keyboards but since I got so far I'll finish my own instead so I have full control over hardware and software and can add features if I want to.

I really don't want to spend more then 100€ i would be super happy with 80€.

Considering that i don't really have a lot of experience and play like 2 hours a day i dont think a switchtester is necessary.

Thoughts on Das Keyboards? I really like their aesthetic and they seem like they'd be nice to use.

>> No.58533037

The newer the keyboard get the worse the build quality becomes, while the price stays the same. If you do want a Das keyboard get an older one with Cherry MX, before they switched to chink switches

Just got lube for my HHKB.
Can't wait to silence it even further.

>> No.58533479

I'm reluctant to get a 660c because I feel like I'd miss my 60% layout. and HHKB is out of the question because it's not sold here and I don't want to deal with import taxes.

>As a matter of fact in Asia blues are marketed as the gaming switch and many starcraft players use blues in their tournaments.
Things that are not remotely true for 500, Alex...
The worst part is it'd only take a few minutes to check what keyboards are popular with professional Starcraft players. (Hint: It's MX Reds)

>> No.58533620

Would you say they are better for typing o gaming?

>> No.58533698

nope blues and browns are more popular. Heck when cherry made the g80-1865 to commemorate China's first win in Star craft (I believe it was WCG) the keyboard came with with cherry MX blues. Reds are the gaming switch here in the US

>> No.58533774

you can game on them since they reset pretty fast. They do have 2kro like most rubber domes, but since modifiers don't count towards the limit it really isn't a problem

>artisan keycaps for your model M
Where? Is there a type of keycaps that fits? Or are they all universal?
What about the space bar, and shift. Those are not caps.
I only seen kits for small form keyboard shit, and never the full set.

>> No.58533832

Yikes that seems pretty low - then again I can't think of an instance where more than two at a time is really needed... Unless maybe in a FPS walking forward and to a side and needing to jump at the same time.... Hmm. Maybe they're not for me afterall....

>> No.58533843

I'm going to be switching out the springs in my blues so I was wondering while I'm opening up the switches, should I sticker them?
Are stickers a meme?

>> No.58533858

again modifiers like shift, space, and crtl don't count towards the limit and certain combinations can be pressed due to the way the matrix is desgined

>> No.58533881

Oh, I interpreted modifiers as ALT, CTRL, and WIN/Super.

God to know, thanks!

Black would be better if you're a button masher, but I appreciate brown in FPSs.

The only reason I don't like blue for gaming is because I don't want TAKKATAKKATAKKA when I'm trying to hear footsteps.

Not that there's anything wrong with red and black boyracer colors r-right?

This. After I finally grew out of my pathetic Gaming phase, I switched from brown to blue.

Brightness @ max

still waiting on orange alphas, esc, arrow keys, they are apparently w/n my state now, so soon(tm)

These keycaps are def a major upgrade from the oems, they sound 100times better too, not as clacky and obnoxious, if i end up not liking the orange keycaps, i might just stick with these whites

also they included a wire keypuller and a meme cap, that i sued for esc, kind of a shame it bleeds through as i think its pretty cute.

the only negative things i can think of is that, it didn't come in a foam case, just a plastic one, which kinda sucks since i was planning on putting my old key caps in foam, but w/e... and also the ampersand and the B has slight problems with shine through, i guess those part got a bit too thick?

I dont that would fit really nice
