It was something similar to this, but it had more blue shades in it. This is really cool though.

Really want a keyboard with this kind of theme.

Also, a question -- it seems like the majority of mechanical keyboards are without a number keypad. Are those usually bought separately? Or, could I find a good one with one attached?

Hey /mkg/, I had a filco with reds that had a 3 key that stopped working so I bought a keyboard with clears to give something else a try. Only problem is I don't really like the clears.

I was thinking of getting a topre and returning this keyboard with clears. Any suggestions? Was considering the Fc600 since it comes with PBT caps. Open to anything. Others like the DAS have a volume nob and media keys, but no macros.

Yes. The only issues I have are minor. The software didn't detect the keyboard in the USB 2.0 slot on my mobo that I usually have my keyboard plugged into. Moving it to a 3.0 slot enabled it to be detected for whatever reason. I think this is more an issue with MSI's mobo then the software.

Only other issues was me being dumb. Software is easy to use just make sure to use one of the pre sets you setup or it resets itself on comp restart.

The actuation change is surprisingly nice to have. I just leave it on the lowest but it was nice to test others.

Recently I asked for a suggestion to buy a new keyboard. I wanted a TKL w/ browns. A kind anon here suggested me a few shops and the Ducky brand. I come from having a Quickfire TK with blues, and I loved it.

My question is, do you guys know of any proper wrist rest for TKL keyboards that's comfy but not overly expensive?

I've been using the Grifiti FAT 17 for my Quickfire TK and it's a bit worn out now and I've noticed it's a little bit too high for this keyboard's low profile.

I dunno, my country is a direct democracy, you get to choose between more than two candidates, and if you and enough other people don't like something you can just launch an initiative about it which will then be brought to national vote.

Not to mention that the government hands out firearms to any able-bodied man who are willing to undergo four months of military training.
Or you can just get a firearm license for 200 bucks or so and buy firearms like every other citizen.

Given that I live in a suburb, probably not a whole lot.

What happens with ducky is they make them in "batches" then distribute them to a sellers. Usually its only one of their models they produce at a time and they rarely do restocks. It means that the keycaps are made from ABS plastic and its done with double injection molding so the legends never wear out. You can find more info on the deskthority wiki

>> No.58036653

ABS is the kind of plastic it's made out of. The tooling for ABS is less expensive than other kinds of plastic, but the oils on your fingers will polish it over the course of time, and some people don't like that.

"Double shot" means they injected the molds twice, with two different colors of plastic. It yields much longer-lasting legends than pad printing, because the "ink" is plastic and won't wear down with use.

For just English it's probably great but it's missing so many characters that you find on other layouts and which could easily be added for a more international keyboard:
¨ ´ ` ~ é è à ^ ç All these are standalone keys on my layout and makes typing different languages much easier.

Awesome, thanks!

You know you can get some generic ISO, then change the layout using windows. Any legends you dont have can either be memorized, tapped on, or you can get custom keycaps

I'm Belgian and learned to type on azerty, it's fucking trash compared to qwerty for punctuation and programming.

You can get cherry stems for like 5 cents a peice

>> No.58043969

Yes, just thought it would make more sense to push an international Qwerty suitable for the majority of Latin and Germanic languages so everybody can use it and easily type in their language without messing with custom keycaps or reprogramming in a different OS.

I can see that { } are weirdly placed and the use of shift for the full stop is retarded, on the other hand the semi colon must be handy for you but is was just an example layout which has many characters to easily type different languages.

have had a 60% for a little bit, kinda want the full keyboard back.

whats the standard good full keyboard?

Ducky is the gold standard. WASD v2 (Code or bare bones) is a solid fallback if you want greens or clears, you don't want to wait for restock shipments, and you don't mind paying a small premium. You might also find Unicomp acceptable if you're a murderer.

Well memed, my friend!

But seriously, Ducky is the brand people always recommend and talk about here, and if you've heard differently you should give a different recommendation.

>> No.58046112

I've got a Ducky keyboard and it is a very good brand. I would most definitely recommend it to others, but its a solid 8/10 keyboard. There are better keyboards out there like Gateway, but they aren't as diverse and readily available as Ducky

>There are better keyboards out there like Gateway, but they aren't as diverse and readily available as Ducky
This is the part people always forget. Yeah, you can pay $3000 in a specific hour of June 2013 in a group buy for a Korean custom, and maybe you'll get an amazing keyboard better than a Ducky, but you can't turn around and recommend the same model to every random stranger on the internet.

Ducky makes competitive boards at competitive prices and distributes them around the world. You can't use a board you can't find.

I wasn't talking about Korean customs.
I can get most of these for almost new or go onto Craigslist and find a bunch of old Gateways, focus, some old IBMs, and one omnikey. All of which are better then Ducky

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go get this now before someone else does

Any suggestions for a PS/2 keyboard from the 90's/2000's that will accept these?

did you buy plate mount for pcb or pcb mount for plate. If its the later you can snip off the extra pins and it would work just fine

I want to buy the leopold 750r with the dancer keycaps (massdrop).

It would be my first mechanical keyboard.

the stock PBT keycaps are actually of high quality on the Leopold. They are 1.5mm thick and are in cherry profile which is nice. If anything you might consider it a downgrade compared to the dancer set on massdrop. But there aren't any PBT SA sets yet so if you like the looks then go for it.

And it doesn't even have a mounting plate.

Is 75 dollars an acceptable price for a good condition model F XT?

>> No.58048925

A kg is 30 bucks.

That thing was printed with an internal density of about 30%, you can press with both thumbs on the middle and it barely flexes.
I didn't weigh it, but it weighs next to nothing.

It's cheap as shit. A 3D printer may cost something, but the material itself is cheap as fuck, and you don't even need a whole lot of it to make really solid things.

well then just get a used g80 on ebay for like 40 bucks
