to be honest the same happened in reverse with topre:

I ordered a novatouch and in 2 days I realized I were in love with topre - actually in 30 seconds, but it took me 2 days to accept it

then i quickly returned it and got a hhkb.

the magicforce is a good board and inexpensinve to get into the game but had some glaring defects FOR ME:

- gateron clears were too light

I would have gotten used to it, yes, but I would never have loved them, also going back and forth between them and topre would have been a pain

- rattling stabilizers on large keys.

This is mostly a cherry issue, and topre spoiled me

- it was neither a 60% nor a TKL, so shopping for keys would have been awkward.
I'd have to spend for a tkl set and then not use 16 keys

- the fn layer was absolute crap

What's the most silent mechanical keyboard that I can buy? I'm using blues right now and have used browns but didn't like them that much, especially after switching to blues. I'd be willing to go back to them if they are the quietest option.

Pretty pretty good.

Can anyone suggest me a good mech keyboard? I'm looking for:

- NOT Micro USB (shit always breaks)
- Preferably black

has anyone here modified their mx blue keyboard to 'ghetto greens'? (aka mx black spring swap)
i might buy a memeseries gaymen keyboard with mx blacks for 50 dollars off craigslist just for the springs. is it a good idea?

Committed to kc60 on massdrop at lowest price

Currently have a pok3r with greens that I love, but I never want to leave it away from my desk for too long, since it's my main keyboard for my desktop. I'm thinking I can have the kc60 in a backpack as my carry-keyboard. Or maybe if I do some crazy shit with the programming that makes it way nicer, I'll end up swapping it with my pok3r.

A friend let me try his HHKB Type-S the other day. It was fucking sublime.
The day is fast approaching where I will "fall for the meme", as the kids say these days.
I just wish the Type-S had a bluetooth option. That would be heaven on earth.

I've got five mechanical boards but none of them are smaller than a standard tenkeyless. I'm going to spend all that money on a board that small, I'd probably want to take it everywhere, and it would be convenient to use it at my work computer and at my home computer simply by taking it out.

Then again I could just get spare cables and leave them everywhere I plan to use it, plus have one in my bag for backup purposes.

Tell me more?

now right hand on the number pad:
it makes a considerable difference having the keys in a grid rather than a row

I inherited a medical condition where the sweat glands on my hands and feet are overactive, and this causes that oil-grime to build up a lot quicker than normal on my mouse & keyboard. I keep a dry hand towel to dry my hands, and that quickly becomes a damp hand towel within half an hour near my keyboard at all times.

Cleaning my keyboard is a hassle and a problem, so I'd like to get a keyboard skin or a keyboard that makes cleaning significantly easier.

Any suggestions on keyboards or keyboard skins?
