Being a 20year old with a Rolex knockoff homage will make you look even more pathetic.

If you like the styling of a Rolex diver then get a proper diver which looks the part, whether it be quartz or mechanical and not a shitty knock off. Or mod just mod a proper watch to look like one.

Also, what i meant by buying a mechanical one is that Rolex subs are generally made only with mechanical movements.

I'm the watchmaker of the store, so it was safe to reveal my power level early on as a slavboo and gooklover when it comes to watches. Also as we sell Casio, Roamer and Doxa they have developed a taste a bit less shit than the common normie.

Also I doubt they'd like DW, the only watch of mine they explicitly said they didn't like was a vintage Swiss dress watch similar in style to a DW. They said it was a watch for old farts.

Vostok Amphibian or Komandirskie as far as new watches go. Amphibia has a thicker and more domed crystal, along with being 20ATM WR and automatic.

How do you compete with Pajeets? Not to mention dealing with corporate culture. I'm comfy with watches, I tinker at my bench all day long, surf the net, I even come up here during work, nobody really bothers me, sometimes a retard comes up for a battery change or a springbar, I sort their chinkshit out in two minutes and then back to watches and Internet. Also no corporate bullshit, I see the boss maybe once a month and the hot bitches in the store sometimes tease me but generally give me no shit.

TL;DR: after years of NEET suffering I finally lucked out.

So if this a watch thread would I be able to ask about a smartwatch or fitness tracker here? I think asking here would be more efficient then creating a new thread.

>> No.57607862

The majority in this thread focus their attention mainly on mechanical watches, sometimes even Quartz.

Smartwatches are frowned upon due to their sheer impracticality. A watch you must charge every 2 days? Maybe even once a day if you don't bother to disable facebook notifications on the thing.

When (If) Battery technology advances, then smartwatches may one day become viable. But right now, with the current state, and obsession with "features" makes them, as mentioned, impractical.

I'll avoid touching too much upon the poor quality of them, but I will mention that I have held and worn a work colleague's iWatch, and by god, the thing feels like a $10 mall watch. The finish and overall quality really is shit compared to what one should expect out of even a $100 watch, but to stop and think that Apple were asking $400 for these things?

Frankly the only smartwatch worth it's salt is the Pebble. Simply because it's cheap as shit, has a rubberised case, and you can gut features from it, meaning the battery life isn't complete shite.

>> No.57608002

The Spaceview is a great looking, fun watch to have. The arrengement of its components and lack of dial is unique to its kind, even among other diapason watches, and the buzzing is fun too.

However, I think the way TGV got his is ignoble, as he bought a restored one instead of tracking down one in great condition and preserve it for the future. A true watch connaisseur should know better.

I have my own Spaceview, bought it after looking long and hard for the specific reference I wanted, and in a condition I'm happy with. You should do the same and I assure you, you'll cherish it and enjoy it way more than what the Urban Faggotry does.

I have more than 50 by now, but I'm an insatiable whore about watches.

You should own the amount of watches you feel comfortable with, providing you can truly afford them.
3 to 5 timepieces is a great number for most people, btw.

Corp, I suppose? I'm really not familiar with the english terms to be honest. I don't even know if "first responder" is 100% right.
Je suis secouriste bénévole dans une association agrée de sécurité civile.
What I do is mostly sports events, music festivals, or any kind of big event where first aid may be needeed. We stay there with a team and all the tools we might need in case an accident happens.
We also look for lost people, help populations after a flood or tempest, and teach first aid to the public.
It's a volunteer thing I do mostly on week-ends, but it's very rewarding and a llt of fun. Also, sometimes not fun at all.

I get to use my watches to take a pulse, which puts me back on topic.

are these people retarded? It's placed at the very back of watches because it needs to be close to the skin to avoid temperature fluctuation leading to changes in diameter and thus changes in rate of reciprocation.

And i'm not gonna bullshit you, I JUST got it back from Stoll & Co for warranty repair. I bought it in April, and the crown / movement started clicking or skipping and became hard to wind, towards the end of July. thats when i sent it in and finally sent it in and received it last week.

Hopefully i got a lemon, i dunno, but you guys were right when you say winding shit probly wrecks it. I found out a bit late. Having said that, i have 2 other swiss watches and this was the only one to goof.

Also, this thing is on a rotation. I only wore it once a week max...

>> No.57620151

Forgot to add, instead of winding, i now just start my watches by shaking them, like an SKX
