>> No.56978483

Inner rotating bezel.

>> No.56978495

The "free moving" bezels are adequately functional when properly tightened. I imagine this new bezel is 60 point like Vostok's other watches that have the feature. As long as it is machined perfectly aligned, which has been a problem on those other models, then I don't see the issue whether it's 60 or 120.

I may be mistaken but there is a three year long thread with over 200 pages and I have yet to see someone mention this issue. Lume pips in general are a weak point on most watches, but as a classier looking model it would not be best to be rough with it anyways.

Limited edition. Crown operates the internal bezel.

No. That Steinshit is no more of a diver than a random Fossil with a rotating bezel.

You would have to pay to have your Steinshit pressure tested before you should even consider going swimming with it, as owners report wildly variable results of oresdure testing their sad renamed reps.

So putting a leather strap on it makes sense, since it's a pretend diver and you are a pretend watch enthusiast.

The dial isn't exactly untouched either, It's likely not even an Oris.

But they are far from solid condition, counting that they use their special designated street produced lubricants.

Movement is basically in a "Full of shit but somehow still ticking" condition. As to how do they have so many movements, you have to take into consideration that the Swiss were once the biggest producers of mechanical watches and movements (1960~till early 1970's).

In short, i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Plenty of European sellers, specifically from the Balkans have plenty of cheap Swiss vintage watches.

Even if they sell for 5$ the fucking Indian is making a profit. When ever you win the auction Pahjeet gets on his Rickshaw bike and rushes like a madman to the post office so you won't regret your drunken purchase.

Do compare the price of labor in whatever white country you're from and the price of illegal street labor India. Both them and Philippines are a prime source of hand painted Seiko/Citizen/Oris/Orient/Fortis and so forth dials.

I'm too lazy to search for pictures right now, but there are hundreds of watches that match this description. Some may not be repainted but still, i would not buy a single watch from India, not for parts nor for shits and giggles.

Luckily for all, they are easy to identify.

As a former owner of a SNZG15, they are great value but i like the newer 4R36 powered models a lot more. (SRP715)

I already said that the Swiss were the biggest makers of movements. So plenty of common ETA/AS/EB available everywhere, cheaply in varying conditions. Nothing too unique about a rusty FHF96 movement.

Why would a grail need to be a dress watch.

And even though the CB is not as dressy, they still included it in their top 3 choices for best value for under $20,000 dress watches.

You posted a video where these guys actually believe the Journe is a very excellent watch. I don't think any of those guys would be surprised to hear it's someone's grail.

Spherical design is one way, interesting they managed this in a wrist watch since it tends to take a a lot of volume.

Yes but that would just be even more neat. This would be similar to the analemma wrt. sun so it should be a known problem with, hopefully, a solution.

Valerii emphasizes that being made out of wood, it is more likely to be influenced by wear than its steel counterparts. Be sure to take this into consideration before ordering one.

The price tag of the Retrograde is a hefty € 150,000 Eur (around $ 200,000 USD), a large sum of money to be sure; but considering the 1,800 hours of work, spread out over a 7 month period, it seems fair.

>> No.57002536

That's going to be too big for a dress watch.

One of the most common manual wind movements, especially out of china, is a 6497. That's an older pocket watch movement and is going to be in a watch 42mm or larger. That particular watch you posted is 44mm, fucking huge. 34mm is more of an appropriate dress size.

Consider going vintage

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

That infographic is useless. Victorinox are pretty meh - you'll probably pay more than the watch and movement are worth, but it probably won't break immediately so if you like it get it.

Is seagull better value? About the same price point. I know that companies like orient have better value, but id like to add some new brands besides orient and seiko to my collection

>> No.57005314

I think it really depends on the movement. I have an st17 watch that gets the job done but had a pretty mediocre power reserve, but another with an st25 that keeps insane time and had a ridiculous power reserve.

>> No.57005342

Agree with >>57005314 ..., and I've certainly heard that the movements Seagull puts in Seagull watches (as opposed to those sold by Seagull to whoever) are generally fine for a cheap watch. I would almost certainly personally call Seagull a better value than Victorinox, for example.

All that said, when I put an ETA movement on the timegrapher versus a Seagull movement, it's easy to see which one is better.
