Since this board is so stupidly rare me and a friend are designing our own and planning on doing a group buy once we've built a prototype.

The trackpoint alone is at least $60/pop thanks to patent holding Jews.

Planned features:
- 60%, TKL, and Full Size
- $200. - $300 price range
- RGB backlit keys

Dear god why are you doing this to yourself? I'm loving my 60% layout and don't see the need for 40% memes.

>> No.55364350

>Why the fuck is the enter key not on the home row.
There's no empty space on the home row.

>for every bracket, comma, period, parenthesis
>comma, period
Hey now, it's not that crazy.
Also, you already hold a key to hit a bracket. The jump from 1 to 2 keys isn't as big as 0 to 1.

>why are you doing this to yourself
It's the cheapest ortholinear to build. Still very expensive, though.

Picrelated is my layout I'm throwing together. It gets messy with the Cyrillics, so I removed them.

Thanks. You know some good PBT keycaps for a NovaTouch?

I leave my Compact SQ there. I bought it specifically as a work board.

Just googled "Hypersphere rings", found some disassembled keyboard, and realized that Topre is a membrane switch.
You faggots are disgusting.

I put ironed landing pads on my NT, and I would say it's time-consuming, but not difficult.

Does it feel any better/different? or is it just the sound that is improved?

>> No.55377411

It's mostly just the sound - the downstroke isn't affected beyond (for me) an imperceptible loss in initial travel distance, though if your fingers rest on the keys as the slider hits the housing on the return I guess you would feel something different.

I think it's important to note that sound plays into feel.

Yeah. I'm not really bothered by the loud sound. In fact, I kind of like it.

Can anyone recommend a place to get good wooden wrist rests?

>> No.55377615

I heard they got some good ones in the forest.

>> No.55377646

I just use my flat little sister's breasts as a wristrest

blues or reds?

>> No.55377663

Reds, or greens. Blues suck.

Go check your local wood store. I hear that you can buy pieces of wood there.

wait for the next royal glam wrist rests drop

Rings are easy as fuck to install, probably 1-2 hours.
With pads you have to iron them first, then fix them so stems wont stuck, it takes a lot of time.
Also with rings you have a more consistent sound since they all have the same thickness.

I was looking in to building my own mechanical keyboard, but I don't know what to get. Would it be better if I was to buy a kit that includes everything I need, or just buy each part separately form different vendors.

>> No.55379099

There's kits on aliexpress that allow for a whole lot of different configurations. I'd recommend getting the case, plate and PCB from the same kit so you won't have to worry about compatibility, and then get whatever switches and keycaps you fancy.

>> No.55379172

Do you know of any good kits from aliexpress? I wouldn't know what to look for in the sellers to see if they are good or not.
