It seems like this is mostly an aesthetic watch, the module has a shitty timer and is relatively unintuitive.

Just out of curiousity, how much do prices increase with micro brand watches such as Maison Celadon? I mean of course we're supposed to purchase pieces that we like instead of seeing them as investments, but do micro brands increase in price such as Rolexes and Omegas? Or do they remain/drop in value as they age? I imagine it be hard to say since if the brand dies their won't be many experts to assess the price and will judge it just by the watches value in general, right?

That's not that high of a percentage compared to other items, it's actually very normal. Clothes are about that percentage, you have to pay for all the marketing, sponsorship and what not. These look nice but I don't understand how people can buy these when the movements are so unreliable. Can you even get it repaired? Would it even make economical sense?

I mean $300 is in my opinion too much for a watch you buy just for shits and giggles. If you can easily spend $300 on an unrealiable watch then you can also save up a bit for watch that won't break easily.

Seriously. It's worrying how cheap people are when it comes to luxury items. You don't need a mechanical watch. You can wait a few months or years to save up for a proper one. Just wear a quartz in the meantime.

Most people in my office only have a vague inkling of my interest in watches. I get them posted to me, but nobody really cares too much, nor do they try to talk to me about it. The few who do tend to have dogshit; a bunch of coworkers have Apple watches and are constantly trying to convince me it's better because "you can change the face". In the end, I get paid more now, will probably be able to have a more comfortable retirement, and I can wear my watches to work without fear of having them break. But the flip side of that is I work with drab, boring, passive-aggressive and overall bloody awful people who are all in a contest to see who can put in the most overtime rather than who is most productive. Let us talk about this too.

With sub micron 3D printers I hope one can combine a good time keeping part with a good face tailored to specific needs.

I'd like a good, tidy but also readable watch. Eye sight is not what it could have been so my needs differ from that of others. This means I would like mine white-ish in day time and yet fully lumed at night, deep red. And tritium in the hands which will also refresh the lume even at night.

Also, does any watch have lumed day and date window? Trouble is these turn over at midnight so any day time exposure will not work for the fields after midnight changes. This really is not hard. Trouble is noone provides what I ask for.

I have seen nice 3D printed clocks but far too large to wear on a wrist. With miniaturisation this will change. Already you can print with phosphorescent material. Tritium will of course need extra work.

Have you seen the number of Thinkpads people inadvertently include in their watch pics? Guaranteed half of those are running some variation of Linux.

Ultimate weeaboo. Many watches in thus price range represent poor value but no one with a brain can justify that kind of money for that watch.

I was referring more to one of the classic luxury watches (rolex, Breitling, etc.) That is near indestructible.

What's the deepest a watch is certified for? 600m?
