You can strip the extraneous streams like audio and copy the video stream. It doesn't re-encode at all.

And like >>41184315 says there will obviously be re-encoding somewhere in the process anyway.

Asking 4chan to detect and strip them is way too much work for 4chan's already taxed servers. Uploads should be fast, not "wait while we remove the sound from your video." Do it yourself when you make the WebM in the first place.

Those saying sauce will be harder to find, in some cases, couldn't it make it easier by pausing on a specific frame and having the extension be able to search that one specific frame? Cool. Thanks to those who helped me figure out what I was doing wrong with my arguments. This is my first one. Haven't messed around with the bitrate and filesize and such, so I'm sure it can look much better. Now that I've made one successfully with all the defaults, I'll be more confident tinkering with things to actually make it look decent.

FFMPEG BROS, please read this if you want to hit 3MB for best quality.

DON'T USE -fs, it doesn't do what you think it does. It will drop the last part of your video, and that's not what you want.

Don't worry about -crf. Constant quality is meant for when you don't need a precise bitrate, which you do if you want a precise filesize. Just leave it out.

DO USE 2-pass encoding, like >>41184046 says.

DO USE the exact bitrate you need for your videos to be 3MB. How do you know what it is?

3MB in bits / video duration in seconds = exact number of bits/s you want. In my experience, you should leave a 2.5% room for webm overhead. So, what you want is:
bitrate = 3*1024*1024*8 / duration * 0.975
Just use that bitrate with -b:v and your video will come out at 3MB.

Remember to use 2-pass for best quality. While you're at it, also throw in -quality good -cpu-used 0. See http://www.webmproject.org/docs/encoder-parameters/
for more vpx ricing.

This happened for a reason. season 2 was possible. Basically the main director is a massive jew and only said S2 would happen if PSG merch (read: sound tracks, and dvds that only had 2 episodes per that sold for $60 in nip currency) sold enough. Obviously it didn't sell very well because a: PSG's main audience was outside japan and b: anime dvd's typically aren't bought in japan since, well, 2 episodes for $60 is horse shit.
