You can if you desolder them and put in other ones (or cut the PCB to pieces and handwire everything like I did)

>>54910779
Nice, keep it up anon. DIY is one of the greatest pleasures man can feel.

I have one.

No complaints in terms of build quality, externals and internals are both perfectly fine.
As long as you don't fuck with them like I did.

Yes, hello there.

As a controller you use a teensy 2.0.

You need a plate, switches a case and keycaps. Either you design your own pcb or you wire it by hand.

TMK firmware for all your firmware needs (matt3o has a guide on deskthority, it's quite straighforward business).

I don't think drivers would be any kind of issue, haven't had any myself.

You may end up bricking your PCB like an idiot.

Though there's a fix for that.

Mechs don't really do anything that a regular keyboard won't do, except for NKRO maybe, but I don't see why anyone actually needs full goddamn key roll over.

That being said, they're very nice to use. They feel nice to type on and they offer a very high degree of customizability. If you use your keyboard all day you'll probably enjoy a mech, if you like to tinker with shit you will love them.

Yup, typing on it right now.

Though I also got another board that I rotate it with. I feel like building another TKL or 60% (or maybe a 40%) now, but I'm getting some keycaps for the memeforce in pic related first. Also going to put together some numpads/macro pads together sometime, one with alps and another one with gaterons since I still have the switches and plates for both laying around.

Me and My Two Hands Corp.

No company in their right mind would handwire a keyboard anon.

Going to build a numpad/programmable macro with alps and another one with gateron blacks sometime in the future.

And they're all damn good memes, I tell you.

I dunno man, that must be some strange kind of dirt that makes the springs lighter and the whole switch less tactile.

And I even got the arrow keys working properly now. Hardware solutions > software solutions.

Time to set up some dank function layers.
