It's not a bad idea.

Both my Silverwave and LM special need new crystals and i'm likely going to do the same.

Mostly because the LM specials crystal is impossible to find for sale.

>The 7S26 is not rugged. It's really kind of a piece of shit
It's nice, simple and cheap workhouse movement based on a very reliable design. It's true that the Vostok 24XX cal is much more rugged and shockproof but you shouldn't diss on the 7S26's longevity and reliability.

>With the exception of the 6R they are also all worse than the 7000 series.
Mostly the B and C types, because of the new troublesome balances. The A type movements from the 7SXX/4R/6R families were more similar and equally robust as the earlier 7002/7005/7009 movements.

>I want to do a 4S15 swap in muh SARB
So swapping a 7XXX series based movement to a movement that's completely different, which has a different stem, accepts different diameter hands, different dial and day/date alignment and is hard to find?

It's easier to just find a 5216 (Or 5206) LM special and service it instead of trying to nigger rig a 4S15 into a SARB, since the 4S15 is a remake of the 5216.

>I find that RIOS puts out a better product for less money.
I'm surprised to know there is another RIOS fan besides me on /wt/

I can't deny it's rather ugly.

But for a 74 year old converted pocket watch, it has it's own allure and history.

>here's really nothing wrong with the default leather strap

You seem to have not worn proper leathers strap yet haven't you?

Guess it's understandable, counting that most battery monkey's usually only have either cheap pleather/faux leather or rubber straps for sale. The Komadirskie strap, though made out of real leather, is known to be pretty awful and in reality it is.

>>57127817
Wonderful.

My only other advice is to order a different strap for it. Either a nylon nato or a decent leather strap.

Depends on what style of watch you're looking for. A divers/sports watch, casual and or a dress watch.

Pretty good purchase overall, the ETA 2804 is really good bang for buck movement.

Or you could move into the world of super thin vintage jap automatics.

40mm or lower if you want a watch that's comfy yet not too small.

Price and condition seem alright, and the 469 cal based movement is pretty reliable.

>>56876890
I've owned one for about a year and a half and sold it.

Though i might get around to buy another field watch off the SARG line since i would really love to have hacking and handwinding.

I like the leather a lot more than the mesh band. Though i'm planning to get a couple of NOS mesh bands.

On a side note, there is a 5256 KS on fleabay.

Still no answer on whether you still own another parts 5206 and if you need a dial to complete another piece.

Monsters can still be found at sub-200$ range. The Gen2 pre-prospex SRP307 is beginning to be rare.

My only real issue with the SKX is finding a proper strap. I got the super oyster but i can't quite get used to the heft so next up i'll try something much more haram.

Plus, plenty of aftermarket hands and dials you can stick into the SKX.

A bit too early for the booze, so enjoy the Seikosha collection.

New superbly comfy RIOS leather straps, surprisingly cheap Eulit palma, and still waiting on the Super Oyster II for the newly arrived SKX so the Z22 will do for now.
