I recently purchased an x230 and want to get as much out of it as possible. Before doing any REAL research, I would like a simple, effective, easy to use, lightweight distro that I can use for code, papers, shitposting, learning linux, etc. I'm currently looking into Debian. Thoughts?

To be honest unlimited mobile data is pretty fucking useless. I also live in a shit tier country, have 4 and 7GB mobile data included in my plans.

Yet I use ~1GB at most.
I use online radios, spotify (if a song is missing), gps, browsing, Dropbox camera upload, etc.

Only Netflix could really eat up all the data, or using Spotify from mobile data all day long.
But there are two problems:
- If the coverage is spotty... and it always is, you will have to wait for it to buffer. Which is pretty f. awful.
- If the device is constantly downloading at high speeds, the battery will go 0% in no time.

tl;dr: Unlimited data plan is like unlimited calls. People don't use them so providers gave them both out now.

I've got a 'friend' that literally looks just like him except he's part Chinese. He bought a new Macbook he couldn't afford just so that he could develop iOS apps except he's literally as dumb as bricks.
Takes a web dev paper at uni, last day of an assignment he asks me to do the assignment for him and he hasn't done anything. Turns out he actually needed to attend the labs to get mysql/nginx access
