anything with cherry mx switches

Don't get a corsair either.

Take a look at ducky keyboards

>I'm a massive faggot
Me too, but I'm sure there's more tasteful ways of showing off love for men than those ugly keycaps.

Those keycaps are the keycap equivalent of legposters.

Browns feel like reds with dirt in the middle.

Clears are actually tactile, not to mention that the increased weight as you bottom out after the tactile bump makes for a very nice typing experience.

I dunno, red backlighting is quite comfy at night even if you don't need it for anything.

It's commonly known as 65%

Keep us posted on your build. Are you going to make a PCB or handwire it?

It sure is.

I'd use it more if it weren't fuckhuge

Then get all gray caps. That combination of keycaps looks absolutely terrible.

I understand that taste is a subjective matter, but you're going to get bullied for it here.

My daily driver has 35g linears and I never have any problem like this. How heavy are your fingers for that to be a problem?

Though blacks are also quite nice.

>>57095148
Ducky's a nice brand. Enjoy your keyboard.

They're about 10 and 12g heavier.

And they don't feel similar in the slighest, but that should be obvious.

I guess I could set up a trip, I only lurk the rest of /g/ anyway (apart from the /bst/, which is tripfag central anyway). And I'm easily identified by my images when I post here anyway, so I guess I can use that as an excuse to not feel totally obnoxious (or even more obnoxious).

I'll take care of that once I'm home in a few hours, just look out for something containing "seiden"

Cheers

Where in Switzerland are you at?

I'm in Bern and I'm looking to sell my Ducky Shine 4 with mx clears. It's in ANSI and would pretty much fulfill all of your other criteria. I have a GA, so I can travel if needed. I've been looking to sell it for 100-120 USD or so, the price can be discussed.

Drop me an email at [email protected] if you're interested.

>I'll grant you they're not the thickest plastic
They're thin shit ABS. Vortex makes doubleshot keycaps that are translucent out of PBT and POM, and they let the light through perfectly fine while also being 1.47mm thick.

Just too bad that you can't replace the stock caps on the corsair thanks to that non-standard bottom row.

Buy my Shine 4 with Clears already

I doubt that the Shine 6 will come in clears, they're using mx rgb switches now, which only come in the common flavors.

I'd still use this baby if it weren't so fucking huge.

Well, looking at the picture you posted, it probably wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that the quickfire rapid has a more solid build quality than the TK, probably with a fatter metal plate.

Though that's just speculation on my part, I don't have a quickfire rapid, so I can't really tell you what differences there are except for the fact that the quickfire rapid has a standard layout, which is already more than enough of a reason to choose it over the quickfire TK.

Your fingers must be dead

There's no point to them, they just feel nice to use and are highly modular. If you can't feel the difference between mechanical switches and your standard slider-over-dome 5 bucks membrane keyboard then you should consider seeing a doctor

>are these things made to order
They're made by some guy. People then purchase tickets for a raffle and a few people win those few, single keycaps.

They're quite rare, hence the resale price that you're seeing on those ebay listings.

Any other questions?

I'm not a huge fan of the design, but it seems like quite an decent deal (assuming that there's no hiccups down the assdrop line). Would certainly tick all the boxes on what you're looking for and allow for a fair bit of customization in the future.
I think it's funny how they use that generic LED controller that comes with every set of RGB LEDs from china (I have two of those laying around right here). A more elegant or at least more interesting implementation of the lighting would have been nice in my opinion, but overall that thing looks quite good.

Get it if you like it, you won't really be coming across anything else of the sort anytime soon, unless you opt to build your own.

>>55175786
Oh don't worry, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually be interested in buying this. The keys don't feel very interesting, I just got it for free and opted to keep it for collections sake.

Nope, I'm just reminding you of the fact that it's not September yet in order to distract myself from the fact that there's nothing exciting for me to wait for right now.

I like your keyboard/keycaps/cable combo btw, reminds me that I should get some parts for my soldering station so that I can make my own usb cables.
And it's nice to see someone other than me and the local tripfag post their shit. I always wish more people would post their keyboards here.

>>54964370
Whenever the exclusivity contract with Ducky runs out.
Maybe. You'll still have to wait for Leopold to implement them in their keyboards.

That's a good enough deal for a Ducky Shine 4, but you should get it with clears (or get the newer Shine 5 if you really want browns).

On the note of which, I have a Shine 4 with Clears that I've been looking to sell if you're interested.

>this thread hates LED keyboards for a reason
That's a bit of a strong generalization. LEDs are perfectly fine as long as they don't scream GAYMURRR all over the place in conjunction with the rest of the keyboard.
