>really old ones
They aren't that old, well not yet anyway. Would she be bothered if the keycaps don't match up with the legends? While all keyboards will work on macs, there are mechanical keyboards that come with the apple layout by default.

The tripfag forgot to mention you need an adapter for it to work with any modern system cause apple needs to have proprietary ports.

Then you need an adapter for it. The old apple mechanical keyboards used Japanese alps which make your keycaps choices somewhat limited.

I can smell the hipster aroma seeping through my monitor. The only way it would be better is if he had an apple mechanical keyboard to match the rest of his set up

If you want some really fun and tactile switches you could check out alps. Sadly the company's mechanical switch division went bankrupt because their switches were too well built. You can however still buy old keyboards with those switches for really cheap on eBay. Dell AT101w sell for around 40 bucks and are much more durable then all the Chinese keyboards in the same price point. You can also go for apple keyboards (pic related) that also use alps switches and sell for $40, but you need an adapter because apple has to have proprietary connection son everything.

You can also check out alps clones like matias if you want to buy new

If spending that much on a keyboard might be a problem then why not consider Chinese keyboards. Rosewill is a good choice for a lower end keyboard, but Magiforce, Tomoko, Zhuque, etc. all have mechanical keyboards for under 50 bucks.

Heck you can even get old dell mechanical keyboards like the at101w or apple AEK for under 50 bucks too. Sadly the apple keyboards need an adapter

>Have no idea. I know i dont like heavy tall keys at my local college, but i do enjoy the clicky feel and sound of a mac keyboard that i use at work
The problem is that all mechanical keys are much taller then a scissor switch keyboard.
Also if this is going to be used in a work environment your colleges will kill you because of the loud noise a mechanical keyboard will produce. If you want a quiet mechanical keyboard then this is your only option:
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?keyword=&brand=&switch=32&size=&led=&capmat=&capprint=&model=&availability=&show_kb=off&show_kb=on&show_acc=off&show_acc=on
They also make then in a mac layout too if that what you need.
Now if you want a mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting then get a ducky shine 5 for full
or a ducky one for TKL:
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?keyword=&brand=1&switch=3&size=&led=8&capmat=&capprint=&model=&availability=&show_kb=off&show_kb=on&show_acc=off&show_acc=on

Also if you want a really nice apple mechanical keyboard then get the classic AEK for you mac (pic related)

you can get cheap alps keyboards for around 40 bucks on ebay. Dell AT101W actually has better build quality for its switches then anything cherry can come up with
If you want one for a Mac then get an AEK (pic related). They also use alps switches and cost the same

IBM model Fs are practically indestructible, but if your budget is around $75 then a cheaper model M would be the way to go.

If you want an apple keyboard then get an AEK (pic related) they usually sell for around 50-60 bucks

Now if you want a cheap but very solid keyboard then a dell AT101W which sell for around $40 is your best bet
Get white alps if you want clicky switches or black alps if you want a quieter but tactile switch (these tend to be 5-10 dollars more expensive)

All these prices that I've seem include shipping
