They're a meme. They just turn the volume up, which you can do on a normal pair of cans.
Get some ATx-50s plus some aftermarket sheepskin earpads.
Thank me later.

>I generally do not connect to web sites from my own machine, aside from a few sites I have some special relationship with. I usually fetch web pages from other sites by sending mail to a program (see https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/womb/hacks.git) that fetches them, much like wget, and then mails them back to me. Then I look at them using a web browser, unless it is easy to see the text in the HTML page directly. I usually try lynx first, then a graphical browser if the page needs it (using konqueror, which won't fetch from other sites in such a situation).

When a project reaches a certain size, I feel overwhelmed by the constraints of the system or patterns I've imposed to keep a tidy structure and manage my autism. Soon after, I get bored and it feels exhausting to even start looking at it. Immediately I want to start a new project and the cycle repeats.

How do I stop this, /g/?

I got kicked out of coop too. Too many parties. I just applied for internships - like 50 of them and finally got one. I knew my shit because I learned what I saw often on job requirements. I kicked ass at my internship and as a result they gave me lots of responsibilities. Just snowballed after that.

checklist:
>make sure your school is good - you wanna graduate with honors at carleton if you can.
>grades aren't end all be all - just min max the woes away
>do well in the classes that matter
>apply to 3 jobs a day, get into fswep, anything to have some job experience before you graduate

Getting into IBM as a coop, just make sure your shit smells nice. Aka know some javascript, have some dummy apps up on your github. 90% of getting an internship is luck so just keep on rolling the dice till you get it

general tips
>dont be a pussy, use linux
>program as a hobby, make something that you would like

What makes Linux any more 'secure' than than the NT Kernel for example? 'User permissions'?
If you know what you're doing and don't act like a retard, I don't see how Linux is inherently more impenetrable than something like ReactOS. Even though Linux repositories are closely monitored, you're still relying on blindly installing everything from them and trying to do things without phoning home to the repository is a nightmare.

As a boomer who's always used windows, I find an open source alternative that can natively run win32 programs without some buggy software compatibility layer like Wine way more appealing as a secure daily driver. It would probably be even easier for a CIAnigger to exploit Linux compared to a firewalled NT setup considering the unaudited creep of systemD.
If you wanted some hackerman setup, you would be better off using OpenBSD but then you're just going through the rabbit hole of security through obscurity and you'll have no usable software besides Libreoffice and a web browser.
