Personally, I can recommend the magicforce line of keyboards

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Magicforce-Smart-68-Keys-Non-Backlit-Antighosting-USB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Aluminium-Alloy-Kailh-Blue/32601129811.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.3.26ee7e03eOsmKN&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10068_10059_10696_100031_10084_10083_10103_451_452_10618_10307_10134,searchweb201603_45,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=f1f5cee2-8767-40e6-a006-6968e260b75f-0&algo_pvid=f1f5cee2-8767-40e6-a006-6968e260b75f&priceBeautifyAB=0

Drevo is a reputable enough brand

There's also compact options like this

Yeh, that's a memeforce, though my motivations were more related to my desoldering machine not working properly and me ripping a few pads off the PCB, at which point I decided to just handwire it. Though it didn't have a very long life, since something was royally fucked, and I couldn't figure out what it was, I'm guessing I fucked something up when configuring the firmware. Alas, maybe I'll revive it again some day, the matrix and everything is still there, it's just missing a controller.

Almost, they're gateron clears.

It certainly is.

I should desolder the switches and use them for some other shit.

I honestly don't know of any.

The TADA68 is already almost budget to me, especially when you consider the features it comes with.

You could get some cheap-ass chinkboard and replace the switches with gateron clears.

The keyboard you're asking about is made by ducky, but yeah, they're a solid brand.

Please find the nearest fire and throw that thing into it.

Or just put the stock caps back on.

My keyboards and my mouse have cables, which means that I never have to recharge them.
Revolutionary, isn't it?

No.

They're extremely light, it feels like you're just pushing away pillars of air under the keycaps as you type, but I wouldn't say that they're too light. It's just a matter of how accurate you are with your fingers, I can't say that I've been having much of a problem with them.

They're my favorite switch when it comes to linears.

I was running low on black switches, and somehow having a black on my thumb felt a bit too heavy for my tastes.

Though admittedly, the blacks generally felt a bit heavy for the first two hours of using them. I used clears for half a year, but I've been using 45g Topre for more than half a year by now, so I had to get used to heavier switches again.

Looking forward to the tada68 with gateron clears to come in, especially since my magicforce firmware is fucked (and I can't be bothered to fix it, I'll just use the teensy to finish this other keyboard I've been working on since ages).

Ducky or non-backlit cooler masters should serve you well. The latter are made by the same OEM that produces Filco.

>metal top case
That's kind of inherent to floating keycaps style keyboards. The metal top case doubles as the switch plate, not really different from plastic-case keyboards in that aspect.

Though I agree that it's quite a solid keyboard for the price.

Hey there /csg/

What's a chink phone I can get that costs 150 or less, has a screen that's five inches or less and isn't a total piece of shit.

I need something to outdo my current iphone 4.

Pic related, it's a chink memeboard

I don't think they come with stock gaterons, the one I had was with outemu switches though I've also seen kalih variants.

But yes, I do have gaterons in mine.

I've got gateron clears in the magicforce (excuse the blurry picture) which are really damn nice. I'm thinking of going with blacks for the numpad since I still have a 120 pack of those laying around and I'm not sure anymore if I want to use them for my split keyboard project.

The plate for the numpad will be from my old cherry mx board 3.0 (first mech) which is in ISO and I hence don't have much use for anything but the numpad part. Maybe I'll make a TKL for a friend to whom the reds belong with the rest of the plate (if he can get over his autism which somehow makes the barely noticeable variation in weighting in some of the gaterons a problem (he was somehow expecting cherry quality but smoother from cheaper chink knockoffs)).

Other than that, I just remembered that I'm planning to get a clueboard next. I want a keyboard with an entirely clear casing and I'm quite curious to try out matias QC switches. Should go well with the alps numpad.

What keycaps should I get for this thing?

I've been thinking of dye-subbed DSA from PMK with blue (or light pink) modifiers are white alphas.

not entirely from scratch.

It's a magicforce, I wanted to replace the switches and ended up bricking parts of the PCB when trying to desolder them. I decided that it'd be easier to just handwire it and have a fully programmable keyboard (it was anyway about time that I'd learn how to use the TMK firmware) than it'd be to try to repair the PCB (which I spent an afternoon trying).

I took the casing and the gateron switches I wanted to replace the stock outemu blues with and wired them up to a teensy. Then I spent a good twelve hours configuring the firmware and subsequently fixing shit.
